BH vs MLR Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Jan 10, 2019

Brisbane Heat is finally making some progress in this edition of the Big Bash League and now has two wins on the trot. Its next assignment is against the Melbourne Renegades, the side that broke the winning streak of the Hobart Hurricanes.

The Melbourne Renegades are going to be losing Aaron Finch once again to international duty and that is a big blow. Brisbane Heat has been lucky that Chris Lynn was not picked for the Australian side and he can continue to be a part of their Big Bash campaign.

Both the sides have shown enough talent in the BBL already to be taken seriously by every single side they come up against.

BH vs MLR Team Previews

Brisbane Heat

An excellent batting performance by Brisbane Heat was almost nullified by the rain but Brisbane managed to hold on against the Sydney Thunder. After three consecutive losses to start the Big Bash, Brisbane Heat is now just one win away from being joined third on the BBL League Table.

The most positive development for Brisbane Heat in its last few matches has been the form of its top-order. Max Bryant, Brendon McCullum, and Chris Lynn all scored runs.

Max Bryant made 36 while the other two scored half-centuries. All three of the batsmen had a strike rate in excess of 150 and hit ten sixes between them. This bodes very well for Brisbane Heat moving forward.

We also think that it is time to consider backing Max Bryant for the top scorer in upcoming matches. He has started to hit his stride and is looking more at ease in every successive match. He has played some unbelievable innings in the past and we sense another one of them might be around the corner.

With the top-3 firing on all cylinders, it looks like Brisbane Heat has its batting sorted. They definitely seem to be stronger than the Melbourne Renegades in this regard.

The bowling was not tested too much in the five odd overs they had to bowl but James Pattinson showed just how destructive he can be. He bowled two overs for six runs and got Jos Buttler out when Sydney Thunder had only attack on their mind.

With Pattinson, Mujeeb, and Dogget to lead the attack, Brisbane Heat is coming along nicely. They will be well aware of the fact that the Renegades are struggling to find consistency at the top and are going to target them.

Max Bryant, Brendon McCullum, Chris Lynn, Matt Renshaw, Joe Burns , Jimmy Peirson, Ben Cutting, James Pattinson, Brendan Doggett, Mitchell Swepson, Mujeeb Ur Rahman.

Melbourne Renegades

An excellent bowling performance was the basis on which the Melbourne Renegades managed to beat the Hobart Hurricanes in their last match. Kane Richardson was back to his best after a long time and took three wickets to set the tone.

Excellent bowling performances from Usman Khan, Jack Wildermuth, and Cameron Boyce also helped restrict the Hobart Hurricanes to a par total.

The bowling attack is going to have another very tough task on its hands against Brisbane Heat. None of the Melbourne Renegades bowlers are really express and could be cannon fodder for the big hitters at the top of the order.

Mohammad Nabi may have a big role to play in the powerplay.

The Melbourne Renegades are going to be without Aaron Finch in this match and that means another reshuffle at the top of the order. Harper, Harvey, and Cooper have not been at their best, neither has Cameron White.

The middle order of Mohammad Nabi and Daniel Christian have had to bail the side out on more than one occasion already. Getting enough runs on the board is going to be the biggest challenge ahead of the Melbourne Renegades in this match. They know they are playing a powerful batting lineup and that can sometimes lead to added pressure if they end up batting first.

On current form, we would wager on Tom Cooper or Daniel Christian being good contenders to be the top scorer for the Melbourne Renegades in this match.

Melbourne Renegades Playing 11

Mackenzie Harvey, Marcus Harris, Sam Harper, TLW Cooper, DT Christian, BJ Webster, Mohammad Nabi, JD Wildermuth, Cameron Boyce, Joe Mennie, Usman Khan.

BH vs MLR Betting Tips

This is one of those matches where everything seems to be building towards a massive Brisbane Heat win. Their batting is hitting form, the bowlers have been doing well, and they are playing at home. The Melbourne Renegades are also going to be missing Aaron Finch for this match which is a huge blow.

We would think going in big for a Brisbane Heat victory is the way to go here.

Back Brisbane Heat to win.
