BH vs MLR Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Dec 15, 2022
The 2021-22 BBL season was one to forget for both the Heat and Renegades, as these teams finished 7th and 8th on the ladder, respectively. Still, a new season means a fresh start and there’s enough talent to make a run at the title once again.
BH vs MLR Team Previews
Brisbane Heat
Losing Chris Lynn to the Strikers was quite a shock, but there’s enough batting talent with new signings like Sam Billings and Ross Whiteley from England, so there’s little worry.
Having Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, and Michael Neser is good news, but all three will often be unavailable due to Test duties with Australia. Much of the batting will rely on Matthew Renshaw, who has been performing better and better for Queensland in Sheffield Shield games. He’ll be much needed alongside spinner Mitch Swepson.
Wicketkeeper-batter Jimmy Peirson is sneakily good and can easily be the best batter on the day when in the zone. Look for him to make big scores throughout the BBL campaign.
Brisbane Heat Playing 11
Max Bryant, Josh Brown, Colin Munro, Sam Billings, Jimmy Peirson, Ross Whiteley, James Bazley, Mark Steketee, Xavier Bartlett, Mitchell Swepson, Matthew Kuhnemann.
Melbourne Renegades
The Renegades had great news when selecting star up-and-comer Liam Livingstone in the draft, only to have their hopes dashed when he had to abandon the BBL because of increased international duties for England.
However, Melbourne has been busy improving the squad in other areas despite Livingstone not playing, as they added great batters like Jonathan Wells and Peter Handscomb, as well as fast bowler Tom Rogers. Plus, there are overseas stars such as Andre Russell and Akeal Hosein to be excited about.
If that wasn’t enough, the team still has one of Australia’s best T20 players, Aaron Finch, and now Martin Guptill will join him from New Zealand, who is equally an impressive batter in his own right.
Will Sutherland has been impressive batting for Victoria in the Sheffield Shield, so he’s certainly one to watch and could be the X-Factor in a revival season for Melbourne.
Melbourne Renegades Playing 11
Nic Maddinson, Sam Harper, Jake Fraser McGurk, Aaron Finch, Andre Russell, Jonathan Wells, Akeal Hosein, Will Sutherland, Thomas Rogers, Kane Richardson, Mujeeb Ur Rahman.
BH vs MLR Toss Prediction
The Renegades seem to favour batting second against the Heat and are 7-2 when this happens, so they may well send in the Heat to bat first if winning the toss.

BH vs MLR Betting Tips
The odds for the Renegades are too good to ignore and they are worth a shot because of talent like Finch and Guptill on the roster. There’s a good squad here that can challenge the best teams and is certainly sufficient to beat the Heat. Plus, the Renegades won the last game against Brisbane and are 11-6 overall.
Bet on Melbourne to win.
Bonus Cricket Bets
Never doubt Finch in a T20 game.
He's lightning quick and can cause trouble to batters.
Can't see this happening yet.
