The New Year clash in BBL 2019-20 is going to be between Brisbane Heat and the Perth Scorchers. Both of these teams have struggled to get going in this edition of the BBL and have one victory each at the moment.
It would be a bit disappointing for both the teams to have gotten off to a slow start since they are considered among the top challengers for the BBL title this season. The match is going to be played at the Carrara Oval, Queensland where one match has already been played this season. The surface then was one that favored the spinners and did not have much pace on it.
The composition of both the teams competing in this match is such that they will need to make some adjustments to thrive on another such surface.
Brisbane Heat vs Perth Scorchers BBL 09 is going to be played at the Carrara Oval, Queensland on the 1st of January 2020.
Chris Lynn showed the entire cricketing world just why he is rated as one of the most dangerous T20 batsmen in the world as he smashed 94 runs off just 35 deliveries. He was within one big hit away from smashing the fastest century in T20 cricket before the tenth over was up! This is the kind of carnage he can cause.
Lynn is joined by Matt Renshaw in the middle order, another player who has been in terrific form. Renshaw has 125 runs in three innings at a strike rate of 134.41. He is equally as important to the Brisbane Heat batting fortunes as is Chris Lynn.
Tom Banton is expected to be back for this match after recovering from a viral infection. He is going to open the batting alongside Max Bryant, a batsman that may be running out of time. Bryant goes hard at the bowling but has been guilty of throwing away his wicket in every single match.
Jimmy Pierson and Ben Cutting add a lot of depth to the batting as well.
One of the concerns that we have is about the capability of these players to do well in spin-friendly conditions.
Mitchell Swepson has been added to the Australian squad for the third test against New Zealand and may not be available for selection. Zahir Khan will play the role of the central spinner in that case.
Ben Laughlin, Josh Lalor, and Jack Prestwidge are all bowlers that can be effective on a slow pitch as well.
Tom Banton, Max Bryant, Chris Lynn, Matt Renshaw, Sam Heazlett, Ben Cutting, Jimmy Peirson, Mark Steketee, Josh Lalor, Ben Laughlin, Zahir Khan.
Three losses from four games have put the Perth Scorchers in a tough spot. They have actually played some good cricket but have not been able to be consistent enough. Shaun Marsh is currently leading the run-scorers chart while both the Marsh Brothers and Liam Livingstone also feature in the top six-hitters list of BBL 09.
This batting order that the Perth Scorchers have is quite dangerous and capable of winning matches for their side.
Cameron Green, Ashton Turner, and Ashton Agar also add some decent depth to the side.
The problem is this side’s comfort on pitches that are slow and helpful to the spinners. Shaun Marsh is probably the best player of spin in the side but his strike rate can be a problem.
Perth Scorchers have had some trouble keeping opposing teams to small totals in this edition of the Big Bash. Chris Jordan, Jhye Richardson, Fawad Ahmed, and Ashton Agar are all good bowlers but their economy rates have been much too high.
Fawad Ahmed and Ashton Agar are likely to be the most difficult bowlers to get away on the surface expected for this match.
Liam Livingstone, Josh Inglis, CT Bancroft, AJ Turner, Mitchell Marsh, Cameron Green, Ashton Agar, Chris Jordan, Jhye Richardson, Matthew Kelly, Fawad Ahmed.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first

There is no chance of rain that has been predicted for match day in Queensland. The pitch is going to be of quite some interest at the Carrara Oval. The batsmen struggled when they played here in the previous match and striking it big in the death overs was particularly difficult.
167 was a winning total in the first match played at the Carrara Oval and 174 was defended in the next one. We think a score of around 165 batting first is about par and defendable by a good bowling effort.
Dream11 Tips and Dream11 Prediction for Brisbane Heat vs Perth Scorchers. The pitch at the Carrara Oval has been one where the spinners have had a big say in previous matches. The scores tend to be around the 165-170 mark and the top-order batters are the ones that have been most successful.

These are two good teams on paper that have been underperforming expectations. Brisbane Heat has had had trouble winning matches at home and that makes a bit wary but it does have the better batting lineup on paper.
The form of Chris Lynn and the return of Tom Banton to the side makes recommending Brisbane Heat the logical choice. There is not too much to choose between the sides, though, and some in-play betting to hedge your bets is also a good option.
Bet on Brisbane Heat to win.
