The Big Bash is about to start and some of the world’s best players are going to descend in Australia to play for their respective franchises. Add to that one of the strongest domestic player pool in the world and you have a recipe for some very exciting cricket.
Brisbane Heat is going to be playing the first match of BBL 2019-20 against Sydney Thunder. Both of these teams have had contrasting fortunes in times gone past. While Brisbane Heat has underperformed expectations, Sydney thunder has often outdone them.
Both of the teams have added some big names to have a different look about them this season.
Brisbane Heat vs Sydney Thunder BBL 2019-20 is going to be played at the Gabba, Brisbane on the 17th of December 2019.
Every year we talk about the strength of the Brisbane Heat batting and how it has the potential to overpower any bowling attack it encounters. Injuries and some poor performances by its main players has not led to that happening but we think this year may be different.
Chris Lynn is going to be leading the side and is in terrific form. He nearly scored three T10 hundreds in three matches, which is practically unheard of. He is also completely injury-free after a long time and could make a massive impact in this match.
He is going to have a very strong supporting batting lineup comprising of players such as Max Bryant, Sean Heazlett, Matt Renshaw, Tam Banton, Jimmy Pierson, and Ben Cutting. A couple of names are going to be unavailable because of their international team commitments but that is not going to really hamper the side.
We are backing Matt Renshaw and Tom Banton to be regular contributors in this BBL season. Renshaw is one of the under-rated picks that is available at a good price.
The bowling attack is very strong as well and now has Ben Laughlin, the highest wicket-taker in the history of the BBL, in its midst as well.
Mitchell Swepson, Josh Lalor, Mujeeb ur Rahman, and Jack Prestwidge are the other bowlers that are expected to make the playing eleven.
Things are lining up favorably for Brisbane Heat and we expect them to start with a bang.
Tom Banton, Max Bryant, Chris Lynn, Matt Renshaw, Sam Heazlett, Ben Cutting, Mark Steketee, Josh Lalor, Mitchell Swepson, Ben Laughlin, Zahir Khan.
The core of the Sydney Thunder side has moved on and Callum Ferguson has been entrusted the decision to lead them into the new era. The batting is going to have Usman Khawaja for the entire season, now that he has been removed from the Australian test squad, and backed up by Alex Hales.
Hales has been in good form and was scoring runs in the Mzansi Super League. His consistency is a bit of an issue but there is no doubt he can win you the match on the day he gets runs. Jason Sangha and Alex Ross are the other batsmen that should feature in the eleven.
This is a decent batting lineup but it does not have the same power as Brisbane Heat. Sydney Thunder will need its players to perform to the best of their abilities otherwise getting enough runs to win is going to be an issue.
Arjun Nair, Chris Morris, and Chris Green are the all-round options in the side all of whom should help provide balance to the team. Daniel Sams, Gurinder Sandhu, and Chris Tremain are the other bowlers that are in the running for a starting eleven spot.
There are just enough players in this Sydney Thunder side for them to be considered dangerous but we don’t see them winning too many matches this season.
Usman Khawaja, AD Hales, Callum Ferguson, Alex Ross, Daniel Sams, M Gilkes, Christopher Green, Nathan McAndrew, Arjun Nair, Jonathan Cook, CP Tremain.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first.

The weather forecast Brisbane is excellent and we should have no weather related interruptions in the cricket. The pitch at the Gabba is one of the best for batting in the BBL. There is enough pace and bounce to keep the bowlers interested but also for the batsmen to really get good value for their shots.
A score of about 175-180 should be considered par for the surface.
Dream11 Tips and Dream11Prediction for Brisbane Heat vs Sydney Thunder BBL 2019-20. We think the match between Brisbane Heat and Sydney Thunder is going to be one where the batsmen dominate and have built our team accordingly. We have seen in the past the batsmen really smash sixes at will at the Gabba and the same could be true. The underlying fast nature of the surface could give some help to the quicker bowlers and so we have included some genuine quicks as well. Overall, our selections for this match are tilted towards the Brisbane Heat for sure.
We think the home team has the advantage in this contest. Brisbane Heat has a stronger batting lineup with some batsmen that are in prime form. Their bowling is also well-suited to the T20 game and should be able to contain Sydney Thunder.
Bet on Brisbane Heat to win.
