Brisbane Heat is sliding down the WBBL League table as the competition seems to have become stronger. With just one win from five matches (two of those were rained-out), the pressure is going to be on Brisbane Heat to start getting some results its way.
Its next assignment is against the Adelaide Strikers, a side that also has one win from five matches (one of them rained out) but has an extra loss in its ledger. The Strikers are not a weak team either and would be buoyed with their batting performance in the previous match.
Brisbane Heat vs Adelaide Strikers WBBL 2020 is going to be played at the North Sydney Oval, Sydney on the 7th of November 2020.
Brisbane Heat bowled well and kept the Sydney Sixers down to just 129 in its previous match but could not chase down the total. That bowling performance could have been much better had Heat caught Ellyse Perry off the very first ball she faced! It was an easy chance too.
Perry eventually top-scored with 54 and made them pay.
The same kind of mistakes cannot be made against the Adelaide Strikers.
Jess Jonassen is currently a one-woman army and is carrying the entire side on her own. She took four wickets to lead the bowling and then top-scored with the bat as well. If she has a bad day, Brisbane Heat is going to be in a lot of trouble.
Batters like Georgia Redmayne, Maddy Green, Grace Harris, and Amelia Kerr could not score any significant runs in the previous match. That is two matches in a row that the Brisbane Heat batting lineup has failed.
Even among the bowlers, only Nicola Hancock has been able to have some sort of impact alongside Jonassen. This trend of underperformance from its leading players is going to be a bit worrying for Brisbane Heat.
It needs its players to hit form quickly otherwise it is going to be left scrambling for a place in the WBBL playoffs amidst a strong mid-table group.

It is not too often that you score over 150 runs in WBBL and end up on the losing side. Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened with the Adelaide Strikers. They batted pretty well and reached 154 thanks to 68 from Laura Wolvaardt, 33 from Tahlia McGrath, and a pair of useful cameos down the order.
Unfortunately for the Strikers, The Stars turned up big time and chased down the total with ease.
Never the less, we do think the Adelaide Strikers are going to be more confident going into this next match against Brisbane Heat.
The Strikers have a decent batting lineup. McGrath and Wolvaardt are the big names in there of course but the others like Katie Mack, Stafanie Taylor, and Bridge Patterson are pretty useful as well.
In terms of batting, the Strikers can match Brisbane Heat.
Megan Schutt leads the bowling attack and she is a big asset to any side. If she can pick up a few early wickets, the Adelaide Strikers could be in for a big victory. Madeline Penna, Tahlia McGrath, Stafanie Taylor, and Darcie Brown round out a decent bowling attack.

The team that wins the toss is likely to want to bat first unless the rain is right around the corner.

The weather in Sydney has started to improve and we are not seeing as much rain as we did earlier in the WBBL. A few showers may be around but we think we should get a full game to enjoy. The conditions are expected to be batter friendly with short boundaries and fast outfields.
There is going to be nothing in the pitch that is going to make the batters anxious.
A score of around 140 is something that the team batting first will want for sure.
We think this match has the potential to be a classic. Both the teams are very evenly matched. However, the recent batting form of the Adelaide Strikers seems to be just a bit better than Brisbane Heat. Also, we are uncomfortable with the dependence that heat has on Jess Jonassen. That is never a good sign for a side.
Bet on the Adelaide Strikers to win.
