BHW vs HBHW Match Prediction - Nov 12, 2022

Brisbane Heat Women’s team will be looking to consolidate its position at the top of the table, as it faces the Hobart Hurricanes Women for the second time in the ongoing season of the Women’s Big Bash League.

While Brisbane is the favorite to win this contest, Hobart one can never write of the Hobart Hurricanes, and we are expecting a close encounter on Saturday.

BHW vs HBHW Team Previews

Brisbane Heat Women

After making it into the top 4 in the last season, Brisbane Heat is once again putting up a good show and is currently at the top of the points table. The team has lost just 3 of its 10 matches so far and enjoys a narrow 1-point lead over Sydney Sixers.

Opener Georgia Redmayne has been in sublime form this season and is the top scorer for Brisbane as well as in the League, with 333 runs. However, she suffered a hamstring injury in the last match, and updates on her health are awaited. Grace Harris is solid in the middle order and has a couple of half-centuries against her name. Georgia Voll and Amelia Kerr have lent good support to the team. Kerr has been a handy all-rounder, picking up 14 wickets, while scoring an aggregate of 173 runs.

Nicola Hancock and Jess Jonassen are the joint-highest wicket-takers in the league, and will again play an important role in this match.

Hobart Hurricanes Women

The Hobart Hurricanes are fighting hard to keep themselves within the top 4 on the points table. They are tied at points with the 5th-placed Perth Scorchers, but are a step above them due to a better NRR, and have also played a game less compared to the Scorchers. Heather Graham and Molly Strano have been the top contributors to the Hurricanes’ success this season.

Graham has contributed well with the bat as well as the ball and is the top scorer for the team. Strano has picked up 14 wickets and is quite effective with her off breaks. Much was expected of captain Elyse Villani, but she hasn’t been in the best of forms this season.

The middle order of Hurricanes remains an area of concern.

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch at Adelaide is great for batting, and we are likely to see a high-scoring game. Batters will be able to play their shots easily, thanks to the consistent bounce. While the quicker bowlers have enjoyed limited success here, the medium pacers and the spinners will find the pitch helpful. The average first-innings score here is around 155. There is a forecast of rain in Adelaide on Saturday, and we might see some delays.

BHW vs HBHW Betting Tips

We are backing Brisbane Heat to win this one. The Hobart Hurricanes haven’t been consistent and lack quality match-winners. On the other hand, the Heat have quite a few players who are in very good form. However, the availability of Redmayne is an area of real concern for Brisbane.

Bet on a Brisbane Heat win.
