It is a top of the table clash in the WBBL as Brisbane Heat gets ready t take on the Perth Scorchers. The two teams are second and third on the WBBL League table right now with near-identical records. In fact, they are only separated by net run-rate.
A win in this match will all but guarantee a place in the playoffs and so there is a lot at stake.
The Perth Scorchers lost their previous match after four consecutive wins while Brisbane Heat has won its previous four matches. It is safe to say that both teams seem to be peaking at just the right time in WBBL 2020.
Brisbane Heat vs Perth Scorchers WBBL 2020 is going to be played at the Hurstville Oval, Sydney on the 18th of November 2020.
An excellent bowling performance from Brisbane Heat kept the strong Sydney Sixers down to just 122 in their previous match. Grace Harris and Amelia Kerr have been in the wickets lately and once again while the others have been steady as well.
Things could have been a bit tricky in the chase as Brisbane Heat lost some early wickets but Jess Jonassen, Laura Harris, Georgia Voll, and Maddy Green all contributed and get Brisbane Heat home with plenty of time to spare.
The manner in which different players have been contributing for Brisbane Heat is very encouraging to watch and shows that this winning streak could still have legs. None of the players individually may stand out but Brisbane Heat is still finding ways to win and that is a big positive.
Georgia Redmayne, Maddy Green, Laura Kimmince Harris, Georgia Voll, Charli Knott, Jess Jonassen, Grace Harris, Amelia Kerr, Delissa Kimmince, Nicola Hancock, Courtney Sippel.
Sophie Devine missed the previous match against the Melbourne Stars and it is still not clear if she is going to be back for this match against Brisbane Heat. As the best batter and the best bowler of her side, Sophie Devine is central to the Scorchers' success.
We thought Beth Mooney played well and Chloe Piparo was impressive as well but the Scorchers were playing with one hand tied behind their back.
Sarah Glenn, Heather Graham, and Nicole Bolton all bowled very well while Mathilda Carmichael was very impressive with the bat in the middle-order.
If Devine is back for this match then we think the Scorchers have a good chance of winning otherwise the contest becomes a lot more even.
Beth Mooney, Megan Banting, Amy Ellen Jones, Chloe Piparo, M Carmichael, Nicole Bolton, Heather Graham, Taneale Peschel, Sarah Glenn, S Betts, Jemma Barsby.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first. That has been the preferred mode of attack for both the teams in the WBBL so far and they are going to want to continue doing the same.

The conditions at the Hurstville Oval are expected to e a bit slow but completely flat. That means batters are going to be able to score when they get in but wickets tend to fall in clumps when they do fall. There is nothing in the forecast that suggests we will have interruptions to the game.
A score of around 130 is expected to be par batting first.
We do not have the benefit of seeing the toss and the final lineup just yet. We are assuming that Sophie Devine is not going to be taking part in this match and that the Scorchers will opt to rest her till she is 100% so as not to risk her in the playoffs.
With that in mind, we think Brisbane Heat is the team to back. Both teams are very evenly matched and have a similar sort of lineup. Brisbane Heat, however, has a better bowling attack that could give it the edge.
Bet on Brisbane Heat to win.
