The Bulls finally got off the mark in the points table, albeit in an unanticipated fashion. After facing a defeat in their first match, they were desperately looking for a win in their second, but it was not to be as rain washed that out. They are in the middle of the points table and still pretty much in contention for the playoffs. They're set to lock horns with Bengaluru Blasters in their next match which is to be played on 22nd August at Hubli. Unlike the Bulls, Blasters have had a rampaging start as they crushed both the sides they faced in their opening two encounters. Considering the Bulls' desperation to win this match and draw two crucial points out of it, expect it to be a really hard-fought match.

Bengaluru Blasters

The Blasters are coming off a relatively long break after registering good wins in their first two matches. The players will be fresh yet full of confidence. After a surreal display of batsmanship in the first match, they followed it up with an excellent comeback from their bowlers.

Batting first on a decent batting wicket, the Tuskers stuck into their batting lineup and dismissed all their key batsmen including Robin Uthappa. Uthappa was dismissed without troubling the scorers by T Pradeep. After losing five wickets for not many runs on the board, Arshdeep Brar took charge and shot their total to a respectable score.

Their bowlers then backed his excellent innings by picking wickets in quick succession. V Koushik was once again brilliant with the ball and M Bhandage supported him well as the duo returned with the figures of 4-1-20-2 and 4-0-36-3 respectively. Despite a late surge by A Manohar, bowlers held their nerve and restricted the Tuskers six runs short of the target.

Bijapur Bulls

Although Bijapur Bulls succeeded to secure a point in the points table, their aim to score their first win of the tournament went in vain as rain washed-out their much-anticipated clash against Belgavi Panthers. They have just one point in two games and another loss here could put their chances of qualification at risk.

Bharat Chipli provided a good start against Hubli Tigers and he will once again shoulder that responsibility. Considering the power-packed batting lineup of the Blasters, Chipli and Co. will be looking to make the best use of field restrictions in the powerplay.

The duo of KP Appanna and KC Cariappa could play a vital role on Hubli's wicket considering the success of spinners in the last few matches here. While KC Cariappa bowled economically in the first match, Appanna was tried for only a couple of overs and concede twenty in those. We expect a better performance from the Bulls, but they'd need to be at their best considering the form Blasters are in.

Although the fall of quick wickets in the last match highlighted the vulnerable top-order of the Blasters, their bounce back from a tricky situation showcased the depth in their batting. The Bulls, on the other hand, failed to deliver with both bat and ball and were handed a hard defeat by Hubli Tigers. With a more-balanced batting attack and in-form players, Robin Uthappa led Blasters are better placed to emerge victorious in the upcoming encounter.
