BR vs SLK Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Sep 02, 2018
The St. Lucia Stars are playing their last league game of the tournament and even though they played some good cricket this year, they have only managed to win two games. Even if they win this last game against the Barbados Tridents, they don’t have any realistic chance of making the playoffs. Their opponents this match will the Barbados Tridents, a side that has now suffered four straight defeats at home, and needs to find a way to turn its season around.
The Tridents are sitting at the bottom of the points tally right now and need to do special in their three remaining games to try and qualify.

Barbados Royals
The Barbados Tridents came into their leg of five home games with a lot of hope. They had started the tournament decently and looked forward to moving up the table. Now, four out of those five games have been played and the Tridents have still to register a single win at home.
They will have one more opportunity as they take on the St. Lucia Stars.
The Barbados Tridents is a side with some exceptional players that are going through a rough phase. Hashim Amla has been woeful for the Tridents and is yet to contribute in any meaningful manner. We prefer seeing Dwayne Smith and Martin Guptill open the batting because both the players can be match winners on their day.
It would be unfair to pinpoint the batting woes of the Tridents on just one batsman, however. Guptill has played just one good inning, Steve Smith and Shai Hope are in the same boat, and a lack of intent seems to be prevalent across the camp.
The Tridents really need to get their strike rates up and go for the opposition bowling from the start. They have the batting depth to be able to pull it off and it may allow some of their batsmen to find form as well.
Mohammad Irfan and Wahab Riaz had a good day last time around again but it still did not matter. Both the Holders went for plenty of runs and effectively lost the match for their team. Ashley Nurse too went for some runs which is not something that happens too often.
Jason Holder seems keen on justifying his place in the side but that may actually be turning out to counterproductive for the team. At this stage, it is just individual brilliance that the players can hope for.

St Lucia Kings
The Stars have been one of the best teams to watch this season, even though the results have not quite gone their way. Their team has come out and played aggressive cricket with no let-up. It sometimes results in disastrous performances but it can also lead to some absolutely stunning totals.
Kieron Pollard with 330 runs is the current highest run-getter in the tournament and is making the most of batting up the order. Maybe teams around the world will see how well he can come out and influence the outcome of a game at number four rather than holding him back for too long.
David Warner has been a little disappointing for the side and has now moved down into the middle order to try and play a more sedate role. That has sort of thrown Lendl Simmons out of sync because he has now been relegated to number 6 in the batting order which is quite low.
We would like to see Simmons open the batting with Fletcher and then move Chapman down the order. Either way, though, the St. Lucia Stars have an excellent batting unit that should fancy itself against the Tridents.
Among the bowlers, McClenaghan and Qais will have a big role to play. They are both wicket takers and don’t mind going for some runs in order to get the breakthroughs. The likes of Kesrick Williams, Chapman, Pollard, Cornwall, and McCoy can all contribute with the ball as well.
The St. Lucia Stars have played with an unbridled freedom in this tournament and we are sure they will approach their last game in a similar manner as well.

Pitch and Conditions
Bridgetown has been a little disappointing in the kind of surfaces it has offered up. The batsmen have found the going tough on a sluggish surface and the bowlers too have struggled to get anything out from it. Not much is going to change for the last match, and in fact, it could play a little slower.
The weather forecast is pretty good for match day with just a slight chance of rain predicted. We should have a full game in without any trouble. A score of around 170 should be considered par.
