We are almost midway through in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League and the table is still wide open. Despite Mohammad Irfan's special spell on the other day, the Patriots survived and got to the second spot in the points table. Although the Tridents are second from the bottom, they're still in a pretty good position. They'll take on Trinbago Knight Riders in their next game where a win will take them at par with the three other teams to further open the table. For Trinbago Knight Riders, a win will take them to the top of the table which is currently occupied by the Jamaica Tallawahs.

BR vs TKR Team Previews

Barbados Royals

Tridents got off to a steady start in their last match, getting to 34 without a loss with Martin Guptill and Dwayne Smith consuming 17 dot deliveries. They were all set to take off when Cutting got rid of both of them in eighth over.

Jason Holder promoted himself to number three and went on to play an enterprising innings which actually kickstarted the Tridents' innings. The Tridents, however, failed to finish with the flourish as they could get only 21 runs off the last fifteen balls.

It was with the ball when the hopes were raised as Mohammad Irfan bowled the most economical spell of all time and got rid of dangerous Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis inside the powerplay overs. However, poor performance by other bowlers eventually led to a loss for them.

Trinbago Knight Riders

Trinbago Knight Riders finally found a way back to wins with a brilliant win over Jamaica Tallawahs. The Bravo brothers teamed up with Colin Munro to chase a towering total of 184.

Bowlers started off well as they reduced Tallawahs to 58 for 3 halfway through their innings. However, poor death bowling coupled with excellent batting by Glenn Phillips and David Miller allowed Tallawahs to get to a towering total.

The Knight Riders didn't get to a start they were looking for as they lost both Narine and Lynn in the space of 13 balls. Brendon McCullum soon followed them as the Riders were reduced to 28 for 3 after the end of powerplay overs.

Colin Munro, who walked in at number three, partnered well with the younger Bravo brother as they brought them back into the match. He scored 67 runs off 51 deliveries while Darren Bravo scored a half-century in just 35 deliveries. It was Dwayne Bravo fabulous knock, reminiscent of CSK vs MI game in IPL, as he scored 36 off just 11 games to put them in front. JPR Searles finally sealed the deal with a boundary when three were required to win off the last delivery.
