BR vs TKR Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Sep 26, 2019

A win for St Lucia Zouks in the most-recent Caribbean Premier League encounter not only kept them in the hunt for the playoffs but also kept the points table wide open. We are down to the final few league matches in the tournament and barring Guyana Amazon Warriors; no team has it's fate fixed, yet. While the upcoming game too won't be enough to confirm the playoff berth for any of the side playing, it should set a foundation in the fag end of the tournament. Trinbago Knight Riders and Barbados Tridents are set to face each other in an important contest, which is to be played at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados.

Barbados Royals
Like the Zouks, Barbados Tridents too had a poor start to the tournament, but a couple of wins in between the losses has put them in a better position. In a total of five matches played, Zouks have won two, including the one against St Lucia Zouks, and lost three. Their exceptional net run-rate of +0.15 should put them in a pretty good position if things get tight towards the end of the league stage.
Barbados Tridents are coming off a loss in their most recent encounter wherein Guyana Amazon Warriors hammered them in a rain-curtailed game. Batting first, their batsmen failed to fire as they were all dismissed for a cumulative score of 138. JP Duminy top-scored for them with 32-ball 38-run knock.
It needed a special effort from their bowlers to restrict potent Warriors' batting lineup to a lower total, but it was not to be. Jason Holder, Sandeep Lamichhane, and JP Duminy bowled in tight and accurate channels, but they too could not keep Brandon King from scoring quickly. Warriors eventually won the match by 12 runs before the rain arrived and the result was decided based on Duckworth-Lewis method.

Trinbago Knight Riders
Trinbago Knight Riders started their campaign with remarkable grace, winning all of their first four matches, but a couple of unfavorable results has put them in a bit of spot of bother. Although they are still the favorites to qualify for the playoffs among the remaining teams, another loss here would undoubtedly send the alarm bells ringing in their camp.
They are currently placed at the second spot in the points table with four wins in a total of six matches played. They've been reasonably dominant, second only to Guyana Amazon Warriors, and have a superb net run-rate of 0.97. Their previous game, against St Lucia Zouks, was washed out due to rain whereas they failed to win the one-over eliminator in the match before.
Against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, their batsmen did superbly, riding on Lendl Simmons' fantastic 90. He was ably assisted by the batsmen to follow as the Knight Riders smashed 216 runs batting first. While their batting was pretty good, it was their bowling where they faltered. It should have been a straight-forward defense for them, but the absence of Mohammad Hasnain was clearly felt as the Patriots managed to level the score before taking the two crucial points by winning the all-important super over.

BR vs TKR Betting Tips
It is an important game for both the sides, for different reasons though. A win for Trinbago Knight Riders will almost ascertain a playoff berth for them whereas Barbados Tridents will be fighting for their survival in the tournament. The Tridents have so far failed to perform up to their potential, and it won't be easy for them to do so, especially against one of the better performing teams of the tournament. Trinbago Knight Riders, on the other hand, have done pretty well so far and have also added Chris Jordan to bolster their bowling attack. Comparing the two sides, the Knight Riders have done well in the tournament on the whole, but their performance in their last two matches was ordinary at best. Barbados Tridents, on the other hand, will be relived with their stalwarts' return to form and considering the value they offer with fantastic odds, they are our pick to emerge on top on Friday
