We are finally into the back-end of the ECN Czech Super Series, the tournament that has left no stone unturned as far as building the excitement is concerned. We have already had close encounters and upsets and things are building up nicely for the finals weekend. Brno Cricket Club is one of the better known clubs in the Czech domestic circuit and their strength and reach is apparent by the sheer number of teams they have in the tournament.
Brno Raptors and Brno Rangers are set to take on each other in the second match of the Group D weekend. This is the first time in the tournament that we will witness two teams of same club taking on each other. The two teams will be familiar with the strengths and weaknesses of each other leaving no margin for error for either side. The match is to be played at Brno Cricket Ground, North Brno, on 4th July.
Brno Rangers is the second team of the Brno Cricket Club and is one of the strongest teams of the group. They feature a couple of players, who are known for their performances for the Czech Republic's national team. Having said that, there are a few apparent vulnerabilities that the Raptors will be aware of.
On paper, the Rangers appear to be a team with a solid amalgamation of the exuberance and experience. They have Dylan Steyn, not to be mistaken for Dale Steyn, and Ushan Gunathilake, who both have represented the Czech Republic in international cricket. Their batting rests on the shoulders of Vikram Padigala, who happens to be their most experienced batsman. He has scored 199 runs in total with a high-score of 57.
Their bowling attack appears to be well-balanced with the availability of several specialists. The all-rounders in Naveed Ahmed, Rahat Ali, and Sandeep Tiwari add to the depth of their batting lineup without compromising with the bowling. On paper, the Rangers appear to be a solid side, which could prove to be the team to beat in this group.
Jan Hoffmann, Sandeep Naidu, Varun Mehta, Muhammad Ansar, Machris Dias, Suresh Ramaro, Sudeep Roy, Basavantaray Madival, Ajinkya Dhamdhere, Sureshkumar Nagaraj, Mark Smart.
While the Raptors does not have the star names as the Rangers have, they certainly cannot be discounted considering the talent they have. In addition to that, the Raptors will have an advantage of having already played on the surface and that could prove to be critical as adapting to the conditions quickly is a key aspect in the shortest version of the game.
For the Raptors, a lot will depend on how their power-hitters in Muhammad Ansar, Chirag Kheradiya, and Suresh Ramaro do with the bat. On paper, the Raptors appear to be a bit top-heavy and they might find themselves in a spot of bother should they lose wickets in the first few overs of the match.
Suresh Ramarao will be a nifty option with the ball as well and will shoulder the bowling attack along with Ali Kashif and Machris Dias. All in all, the Raptors appear to be a solid unit on paper, but do not have similar experience as the Rangers have. However, there seems to be no dearth as far as talent is concerned. They would need their key players to play to their potential and if they can do that, the Rangers will have their work cut out.
Somesekhar Banerjee, Naveed Ahmed, Saquib Sadiq, Tripurari Kanhya Lal, Somsuvro Basu, Dylan Steyn, Ushan Gunathilake, Anthony Francis, Rahat Ali, Vikram Padigala, Sandeep Tiwari.
It is expected to be a high-pressure game and scoreboard pressure can be tough to deal with in such matches. Also, most of the teams in European domestic cricket have increasingly preferred to bat first in the T10 format and we expect it to stay the same. Winning the toss and batting first is what the captain winning the toss should be looking to do in this upcoming encounter.

Brno Cricket Ground is one of the most picturesque grounds in the country, largely because of the lush surroundings and outfield. It features a surface perfect for strokeplay and outfield that offer the full value of their shots to the batsmen. Unlike the other grounds we saw in the tournaments before, the batsmen can accumulate plenty of runs by playing along the ground and, therefore, we might not see as many wickets fall here. The par score is expected to be slightly higher as well and the team batting first should be looking to post a total of at least 90 runs on the board.
Check out the Dream11 fantasy lineup for the upcoming ECN Czech Super Series T10 match Group D match between Brno Raptors and Brno Rangers:
On paper, the Raptors are a bit lesser team of the two, but with Raptors having the advantage of knowing the condtions better, the two teams look evenly matched. Both sides will be fully aware of each other's strength and weakness using that information could be a key to emerge on top. Considering that the Rangers have a better-balanced unit along with the services of players having international experience, betting on a Rangers' win should be the way to go in this upcoming intra-club encounter.
