July is the month that almost every cricket starved fan was waiting for. Apart from the various ongoing cricket contests, July marks the resumption of international cricket after a long time with West Indies taking on England. The fans will also witness the conclusion of ECN Czech Super Series T10, the finals of which are to be played over the second weekend of the month. Before that, however, we are left with the last round of the tournament with Group D teams set to take on each other.
Three teams from Brno Cricket Club and Moravian Cricket Club are set to lock horns on the weekend beginning on 4th July. The first match of the day will be played between Brno Raptors and Moravian Cricket Club at Brno Cricket Ground, North Brno Czechia. There is a huge contrast between the experience and the fan-following of the two sides. While Brno Cricket Club and consequently, the Raptors are well-known in the Czech domestic cricket circuit, Moravian CC is making its competitive cricket debut. Having said that, they are known to have some talented crickets at their disposal. Saturday should begin with a cracker of a contest.
The Brno Cricket Club is one of the most well-known clubs in Czech Republic and has regularly been involved in almost all the competetive cricket that is played in Czech Republic. Even though Brno Raptors is not the first team of Brno CC, they still have plenty of talent available at their disposal in all departments of the game.
Their batting rests heavily on the shoulders of Muhammad Ansar, who is known for his agressive style of play and powerful hits. He will be ably supported by Chirag Kheradiya, who can be dangerous with the bat as well. While their batting appears to be solid on paper, they have an apparent limitation of lack of firepower in the lower middle order. Suresh Ramaro adds depth to their batting lineup without compromising on the bowling strength, but there's little experience available apart from him, as far as all-rounders are concerned.
On the bowling front, Ali Kashif and Machris Dias will take care of the most of the proceedings with the ball. Although there is sufficient assistance available in other bowlers, but experience or lack thereof, could be a critical factor in pressure-cooker situations.
All in all, Brno Raptors are a good unit, but appear to be a little batting heavy. However, they certainly have more experience available than Moravian CC and would like to use all of it to emerge on top in their opening encounter.
Vivek Raxwal, Jan Hoffmann, Varun Mehta, Sandeep Naidu, Muhammad Ansar, Machris Dias, Suresh Ramaro, Basavantaray Madival, Sureshkumar Nagaraj, Ali Kashif, Chirag Kheradiya.
Making it's competitive cricket debut, Moravian Cricket Club might not be known to many outside of Brno region. However, they have some highly-talented crickets who would be itching to make a name for themselves by leveraging ECN Czech Super League, which is being followed across the globe.
Wicket-keeper batsman Syed Abdul Wahab, Jilesh Mattakot, and Lal Mohan are known to be top batsmen for Moravian CC. While the three aforementioned players are expected to play a key role in establishing a platform, the responsibility of doing the damage with lusty hits will lie with Vineesh Njaarekkattil, Dhanushka Sandharuwan, and Om Sharma. This trio will also be responsible to deliver the goods with the ball along with the specialists in Sunil Ambar and Anil Manavalan.
The combination of Moravian Cricket Club is a little skewed in the sense that most of their balance comes from their all-rounders. They have an excellent set of players who can both bat and ball, but lack of specialists could prove to be a major limitation if things do not go according to the plan. Regardless of that, they have a balanced unit on paper and should present a good challenge to the Raptors in the opening contest of the day.

While the trend has been to bowl first in the shortest version of the game worldwide, it has been different in European T10 tournaments. The teams here prefer to win the toss and bat first and we expect it to be nothing different in this game as well.

This match is being played on an altogether new surface and outfield is expected to be lightning quick. The batsmen will be getting full value for their shots and ground fielding could prove to be a critical factor. The weather is expected to be optimal for cricket with the sun shining bright and temperatures hovering in the range of 20 degrees. The team batting first would be looking to put 90 runs on the board.

There is a stark difference between the experience that the players of the two sides have. While the Raptors have rich experience of playing along with other Brno CC players, Moravian CC is relatively new to the competitive cricket scene. They can come as a surprise package on their day, but appear to be a weaker team between the two. Largely because of the better-balance, at least on paper, and a more experienced set of players, we expect Brno Raptors to emerge on top in the first fixture of Saturday.
