Combined Campuses and Colleges

Back in the Super50 Cup after a hiatus, the Combined Campuses team is yet to score a victory. While it lost each of the first 3 matches, its latest game against Trinidad and Tobago was washed out, giving them 2 points. The team is last on the points table, and the chances of qualifying for the knockout stage look pretty bleak.

Neither the batting nor the bowling has been great for the Combined Colleges team. Demario Richards and Matthew Forde have scored 74 runs each, and are the top scorers for the team. Much was expected of Kirstan Kallicharan at the top of the order, but he has failed to deliver the goods, and so has captain Denesh Ramdin, who is scoring at an average of less than 24.

Amari Goodridge has picked up 4 wickets so far, while Michail Powell has 3 wickets against his name. However, the opposition hasn’t been troubled much by any of the bowlers. 

Windward Islands

The Windward Islands had a good start to its latest campaign, winning each of its opening 2 matches. However, they have faltered in the last 2 games, losing to Trinidad and Tobago, as well as Guyana. As a result, the Windward Islands is 3rd on the points table, trailing second-placed Trinidad and Tobago by 2 points.

Alick Athanze and Kavem Hodge are in excellent form with the bat and are the top scorers in the league this season. Athanze has scored 2 centuries in 4 innings and has scored an aggregate of 279 runs, while Hodge is close behind at 225 runs. However, other than these two batsmen, none of the others have been able to make an impact. Veteran Sunil Ambris as well as Johnson Charles haven’t yet scored consistently.

Talking about the bowling, Justin Greaves is the top wicket-taker and has 7 wickets against his name. Kavem Hodge, with his all-round abilities, has picked up 6 wickets. Other than them, the bowling has been below par.
