About the Match

After their power-packed batting performance against Riders in the last game, the Vikings have climbed to the 3rd spot with 10 points after 9 games; they will go up against Titans, who currently hold the second place with 12 points, on 29th November at Dhaka. The Titans have recently suffered defeat against Raj Kings by 9 runs, and would try to go back to their winning ways; on the other hand, Vikings registered 4 straight victories and will like to keep their winning momentum going. It needs to be seen which side can overcome the challenges on the field and come out trumps on Tuesday.

Chittagong Vikings

Chris Gayle on his first day at the BPL, struck 4 sixes and couple of boundaries to help them win the match against Riders by 9 wickets; Tamim Iqbal continued his good batting form as he posted an unbeaten 62 from 48 deliveries, and along with Anamul Haque, he steered the team across the finish line chasing an easy 125 runs. Earlier, Taskin Ahmed and Mohammad Nabi took 2 wickets each to restrict the opposition to 124 runs while Roy and Sajib bowled economically. Against Bulls, Dwayne Smith and Shoaib Malik had posted 60+ runs each to build a target of 185 runs; the bowlers then wreaked havoc on the opponents, taking regular wickets and getting them all out for 107. While fast-bowlers Taskin Ahmed and Subashis Roy took 2 wickets each, spinner Mohammad Nabi claimed 3-16 to bring the Bulls batting line-up to a collapse. Others like Shoaib Malik and Imran Khan also took a wicket each and can contribute well in the upcoming game too. When they had met Titans earlier, the bowlers had stifled them to 127 runs but the batsmen fell short, and despite Nabi’s heroic 39 off 23, they lost the match by a close 4 runs. They have been doing well with bat and ball and could prove to be a tough nut to crack here.

Khulna Titans

Against Raj Kings, the batting line-up put up a dismal performance failing to chase down a modest 155 runs; Wessels and Mahmudullah did well to build a good foundation but other top-order batsmen Hasanuzzaman and Shuvagata Hom fell cheaply. Pooran and Ariful Haque tried to revive the innings but they lost the match by meagre 9 runs. Mahmudullah, who has done well with the ball, provided the opening breakthrough while Cooper, Mosharraf Hossain and Shafiul Islam took 5 wickets between them to restrict the opposition to 154. The bowlers had performed well against the Bulls too, restricting them to 119, which the batsmen led by a power-packed show by Shuagata Hom and Mahmudullah had chased down without a sweat. They have a good resourced with bat and ball and could try to strategize well here against Vikings, whom they have defeated earlier this season. Overall, the team has done well to reach the second position so far, and they will be determined to surpass the Dynamites with a win here.

Our Prediction

The Titans had won the contest when the two teams met earlier but we feel that Vikings with their stronger batting form at the moment, have the edge to defeat the Titans on Tuesday
