CK vs CS Match Prediction - Feb 10, 2021

The group stage of the Super Smash has ended and it is now time for the top-3 teams to play in the knockout stages of the tournament. The Wellington Firebirds have made their way into the Final and will await the winner of this next match between the Canterbury Kings and the Central Districts Stags.

This is going to the third time that these two teams play against each other. Both the previous meetings have gone in favor of the Central Districts so far. Can they make it three in a row and go on to play the Super Smash 2021 Final?

Canterbury Kings vs Central Districts Stags Super Smash 2020-21 Elimination Final is going to be played at the Eden Park Outer Oval, Auckland on the 11th of February 2021.

CK vs CS Team Previews

Canterbury Kings

The Canterbury Kings will be hoping that their bowling is able to lead the way in this crucial match. In Matt Henry, they have one of the best T20 bowlers in the world. He can bowl with pace and seems to step up his game in the big matches.

He will have Ed Nuttall, Daryl Mitchell, Todd Astle, and Cole McConchie for support.

The Kings have a pretty decent bowling attack but they failed to keep the Central DIstricts batting in check the previous time they played them. Since that match was also the most recent one for both teams, it has to bear some importance in the decision-making process.

The batting lineup of the Canterbury Kings is a bit on the weaker side when compared to the Central Districts. Chad Bowes, Jack Boyle, and Daryl Mitchell are the leading batsmen of the group. They also have Cam Fletcher who can hit a long ball down the order.

Overall, we have not seen any of these batsmen get big scores regularly. They also seem to buckle under pressure while chasing. The Kings have to hope for a good start and for one of their batsmen to make it count but overall we are not too bullish on their batting strength.

Canterbury Kings Playing 11

Chad Bowes, Ken McClure, Daryl Mitchell, Cole McConchie, Leo Carter, Cameron Fletcher, Henry Shipley, Matt Henry, TD Astle, Will Williams, Ed Nuttall.

Central Districts

The Central Districts have a very strong batting lineup. George Worker and Ross Taylor are the obvious big names but even players like Will Young, Dane Cleaver, and Tom Bruce have done well in the Super Smash.

If they do not suffer any catastrophic collapse, they should have the batting strength needed to overcome the Canterbury Kings.

Ross Taylor scored 65 in the previous match and he is looking set for another big score.

Doug Bracewell and Blair Tickner are leading the bowling attack for the Central Districts Stags. In fact, Bracewell has been quite good with the bat as well and is being talked about for a potential return to the Black Caps.

Both Bracewell and Toickner can take early wickets and are pretty effective in the death overs as well.

Ajaz Patel ad Jaydon Lennox help round out the attack that has some pretty decent bowling all-rounders to fill in (if needed) as well.

The Central Districts are a better-balanced team than the Canterbury Kings by far.

CK vs CS Toss Prediction

The team that wins the toss may want to bat first. The Central Districts won the previous match against the Canterbury Kings batting first. Also, the surface at Eden Park does not change very often and should remain good for batting throughout. We don’t think winning the toss is a massive advantage at this venue.

Pitch and Conditions

The conditions in Auckland are a little gloomy and there is some rain around in the area. We do think there is a good chance that the rain will cause an interruption and maybe even a reduction in the number of overs.

Whenever we do get the chance, though, the pitch is going to be very good for batting. There has been some extra bounce in the wicket that will keep the fast bowlers interested as well.

A score of around 175-180 should be seen as par batting first.

CK vs CS Betting Tips

We are going to stick with the Central Districts in this match. They managed to win the two matches that they have played against the Canterbury Kings so far and we think they have all the capabilities needed to win it one more time.

Bet on the Central Districts to win.
