The Central Districts Stags have won two out of their completed four matches and are joint second in terms of points right now. The Kings have an opportunity to continue to put pressure on the Northern Knights with a win in this game.
Their hopes of winning back to back Super Smash Titles is well and alive at the moment.

Canterbury Kings
The Canterbury Kings put up an excellent batting performance in the last game but were pipped to the post by the Northern Knights. Their leading player, Tom Latham, got out for a duck but the other batsmen were up to the task.
A 67 from Chad Bowes, 45 from Andrew Ellis, and some quick-fire cameos helped the Canterbury Kings reach a very competitive total. With the in-form bowling attack at their disposal, the Canterbury Kings would have hoped to spring a surprise against the Northern Knights but it was not to be.
Kyle Jamieson has been the standout bowler of the Super Smash 2018-19 season so far. He has bowled with pace, got disconcerting bounce, and been awkward to face even on pitches that have been generally good for batting.
In the last match also Jamieson took two wickets but his four overs went for 42 runs. Andrew Ellis took three wickets to be a factor in the match but most of the bowlers were unable to stem the flow of runs.
The Canterbury Kings would be hoping to continue batting in the same fashion and give their bowling a chance to redeem itself.
The Canterbury Kings are not a bad side especially now that a few of their batsmen have hit form. A senior player like Tom Latham is expected to add to this batting strength sooner rather than later. If the bowling can also find the kind of rhythm that was shown in the past few matches then the Kings are going to be a handful to come up against.

Central Districts
The Central Stags put up a massive total on the board to showcase the kind of runs you need in the Super Smash T20 competition to be successful on a regular basis. George Worker is still struggling for runs at the top of the order but Will Young, Dean Foxcroft, Tom Bruce, and Josh Clarkson ensured there was not going to be any shortage of batting firepower.
A change in the batting order saw Cleaver being demoted which is not a bad thing. Young has been in better form and should be given the opportunity to face the maximum number of deliveries at the top of the order.
The lack of runs from George Worker must be becoming a worry for the Central Stags now. He is one of the only players in this lineup that is unable to get to a good total. He did hit two boundaries and one six in his brief stay so maybe something big is around the corner.
The Central Stags have a strong batting lineup, one we believe is stronger than what the Canterbury Kings have. The bowling on the other hand just seems to be a shade weaker.
Ben Wheeler has been in the wickets this season of the Super Smash and took four more in the previous game he played. With Ajaz Patel providing the control at the beginning of the inning, Tickner continuing to pick wickets as well, the bulk of the overs seem to be covered.
It is only Foxcroft and Ludick that have struggled with the ball in the Burger King Super Smash 2018-19 so far. If the pair of them can get their act together then the Central Stags will start to shape up very nicely again.
