Yet another loss for Galle Gladiators has certainly put them in a spot of bother. Barring Kandy Tuskers, all other teams are in a pretty good position to qualify for the playoffs. The upcoming match of the tournament, which is to be played between Colombo Kings and Galle Gladiators could prove to be the final nail in the coffin for the Gladiators. A win here, however, would put them at par with the Tuskers, reviving their qualification chances. The match is to be played at 7th November 2020 at Hambantota.
Colombo Kings have undoubtedly been one of the best teams of the tournament and their position on the points table reflects that. Led by Dinesh Chandimal, they have an excellent amalgamation of youth and experience and that has lent excellent balance to the side.
With T20 specialists in Laurie Evans and Andre Russell available at their disposal, they have a batting lineup that can rack up or chase down totals with considerable ease. It was apparent in their recent match as well wherein they scored 92 runs in just five overs. The return of Daniel Bell Drummond has only added to their strength and getting past their batting is going to be a tough task.
With the ball as well, they have a decent attack that is led by Isuru Udana. Udana played a key role for RCB in the recently concluded Indian Premier League and has been doing pretty well here. Apart from him, the all-rounders and Qais Ahmed have been instrumental in keeping their opponents quiet. Going by the form they have and their on-paper combination, beating them is going to be a difficult task.

Galle Gladiators lost yet another match in the tournament and the manner of their loss wasn't too different either. Once again they lacked a team-effort as most of their charge was led by Dimuth Gunathilaka. As it stands, they are placed at the bottom of the points table and will need something exceptional to rise up the ladder.
On paper, they have a decent side and it is only the collective effort they are lacking. Besides, momentum plays a key role in this format of the game and a win here could prove to be game-changing for this team. Given that it is a do-or-die situation for them, we expect them to come out all guns blazing in this encounter.
Danushka Gunathilaka, Ahsan Ali, Azam Khan, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, CAK Walton, Sahan Arachchige, Shehan Jayasuriya, Dhananjaya Lakshan, Mohammad Amir, Lakshan Sandakan, Nuwan Thushara.
On paper as well as on the basis of performance in the tournament so far, Colombo Kings appears to be a far superior team. Also, the Gladiators have been in listless form, and beating a team as strong as Kings is going to be a massive challenge. For those reasons, we expect the Kings to sail through to yet another easy win here.
