The Momentum One Day Cup 2019 is well on its way a few frontrunners are starting to appear. This match will see the team at the top of the table, the Dolphins, take on the Cape Cobras. The Dolphins are the only unbeaten side in the tournament right now and will be keen to extend their unbeaten run.
The Cape Cobras have been underperforming but getting a win under their belt is going to help their confidence as well. They are currently placed fourth on the Momentum One Day Cup League table and will want to move up in a hurry.
Getting the better of the Dolphins is not going to be easy but we believe these two sides are pretty evenly matched and should provide us with an exciting match.
The Cape Cobras pulled off an excellent win against the Knights in their previous match. The Cape Cobras were set a target of 283 which they eventually gunned down with just three balls to spare and with only three wickets in hand.
It was the kind of match that can kickstart a campaign.
The star of the chase for the Cape Cobras was Kyle Verreynne. He scored 114 not out from 119 deliveries and was the rock of the side throughout the chase. His presence in the middle allowed some of the other batsmen to be more adventurous and try to take the game head-on.
The fact that the bulk of the runs had to be scored by the middle and lower order will be both a point of pride and concern. It is good that the lower order is in form and has shown itself to be capable of providing crucial runs when needed. The inability of the top-order to fire, though, is something that is going to trouble Cape Cobras a lot.
Janneman Malan is a very talented batsman who has been a part of the South African squad as well. He, Pieter Malan, and David Bedingham can be counted upon to contribute in a more significant manner down the line.
The Cape Cobras have a good bowling attack that is led by the rapid Dane Paterson. He got only one wicket in the previous match but looked to be in good rhythm. George Linde, Dane Piedt, and Akhone Mnyaka are some of the other bowlers to keep an eye on.
The lack of a top-notch spinner in the side is something to worry about.
Janneman Malan, Pieter Malan, Zubayr Hamza, JF Smith, Kyle Verreynne, Aviwe Mgijima, George Linde, Dane Piedt, Dane Paterson, T Bokako, Akhona Mnyaka.
The Dolphins have won their first two matches and are in a good position right now but too many matches are still left for them to start being comfortable. The fact that they were pushed to the brink in the last match is going to keep them on their toes moving forward.
The Dolphins have a very strong batting lineup. Vaughn van Jaarsveld, Morne van Wyk, Dane Vilas, David Miller, and Khaya Zondo form one of the strongest top-orders in the competition. There is also the in-form Andile Phehlukwayo who seems to have taken his game to the next level in the last few months.
Robbie Frylinck is batting at 8 in this side and he is a destructive hitter of the ball as well. He picked up four wickets in the previous match and showed the world what he is capable of doing with the bat in the Bangladesh Premier League as well.
With a batting lineup like this, it is going to be very hard to stop the Dolphins. They most certainly have a stronger batting lineup than the Cape Cobras.
The bowling for the Dolphins is also very good. Imran Tahir, Robbie Frylinck, and Andile Phehlukwayo are all proven performers. Imran Tahir has struggled in fifty over cricket for a bit now and will be looking to use the Momentum One Day Cup 2019 to get ready for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup.
The seam bowling options are not the strongest in the side but that is not something that should worry the Dolphins too much in the contest. Perhaps a stronger batting opposition could target the inexperienced fast bowlers of the Dolphins.
VBV Jaarsveld, Mv Wyk, David Miller, DJ Vilas, Khaya Zondo, Calvin Savage, Andile Phehlukwayo, Senuran Muthusamy, P Subrayen, Imran Tahir, Mthokozisi Shezi.

The Momentum One Day Cup 2019 match between the Cape Cobras and the Dolphins is going to be played at Boland Park, Paarl. The weather forecast is expected to be good for the duration of the match and only a minimal chance of rain has been predicted.
The pitch in Paarl is usually good for batting. The outfield is fast and boundaries not too big either. This has all the makings of a high scoring match particularly if the Dolphins get a chance to bat first.
We think the Dolphins have everything going for them. They have the stronger side, have been in form, and are going to go in the contest with a lot of confidence. Their superior batting lineup makes them very dangerous. The Cape Cobras have a few match winners in their side but are lacking the really big names that Dolphins boast of.
Back the Dolphins to win.
