CS vs AA Match Prediction - Dec 31, 2020

The next match in the Super Smash is going to be played between the Canterbury Kings and the Auckland Aces. both teams have played two matches each so far and while the Central Districts have one win to their name, the Auckland Aces are still looking for their first win of the season.

A lot of the international players are still not available to either team and so we may see most of the same faces that we saw in the previous matches for these teams.

Central Districts vs Auckland Aces Super Smash 2020-21 is going to be played at Pukekura Park, New Plymouth on the 31st of December 2020.

CS vs AA Team Previews

Central Districts

George Worker and Doug Bracewell batted very well to get the Central Districts to 223, a total which turned to be more than enough in the end. Josh Clarkson and Tom Cleaver also got starts and that shows the batting lineup is in decent touch.

We like the depth in the Central Districts team. They definitely have the heft needed to get big scores on a regular basis and their form also seems pretty decent.

Blair Tickner, Ajaz Patel, Doug Bracewell, and Kieran Noema-Barnett are the leaders of the attack. Almost every single one of them has played international cricket and so the bowling unit is very good too.

Central Districts can take advantage of the fact that some of the international stars may be missing from the Auckland Aces and press home their superiority.

Central Districts Playing 11

George Worker, Bayley Wiggins, Dane Cleaver, Tom Bruce, Josh Clarkson, KN Barnett, Doug Bracewell, Christian Leopard, Joey Field, Ajaz Patel, Blair Tickner.

Auckland Aces

Glenn Phillips returned for the Auckland Aces in the previous match but he could replicate his international form and got out for just one. With him in the team, the batting of the Auckland Aces is much stronger.

Sean Solia, Ben Horne, and William O’Donnell are some of the other batters to watch out for as well. Unfortunately, it does not look like Martin Guptil is going to be making a comeback to the team any time soon.

The Aces need Glenn Phillips to fire otherwise they are going to be overpowered by the Central Districts Kings in this match.

The bowling has also struggled in the two matches that the Aces have played. None of the bowlers have been able to keep a tight control on the economy rate and the wickets have not come either.

The Aces have a spin heavy attack in conditions where the spinners tend to struggle. Changing things around is going to be difficult.

CS vs AA Toss Prediction

The team that wins the toss generally wants to field first but conditions are not going to change over the course of the match and so there is no huge advantage to be gained by winning the toss.

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch is expected to be flat and good for batting while the boundaries are going to be on the smaller side. There is a little bit of rain around and so we could have a few interruptions. The scores have been high in most venues and we think this is going to be the case in this match as well.

CS vs AA Betting Tips

We think the Central DIstricts have a great chance of getting their second win of the season. They have been pretty good with the bat so far and their team balance is vastly superior to that of the Auckland Aces.

Bet on the Central Districts to win.
