The final few matches of the IPL 2020 group stage remain and this could be the final time that we see this current CSK squad. The team has already been knocked out of the IPL playoffs race and is likely going to undergo a massive change in the next auction.
Up against CSK is KKR, a team that still has everything to play for. The Kolkata Knight Riders lost their previous match to KXIP and now find themselves in a tough position. They have to try and win their remaining two matches and also hope that KXIP loses one of its.
We can expect some changes to both teams in this match. CSK has stated its intention to give the entire bench a run while KKR continues to search for the elusive balance.
CSK vs KKR IPL 2020 is going to be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai on the 29th of October 2020.
CSK managed to get the better of RCB with ease in its previous match. The venue was the same as for this next match and it seemed as if the conditions were finally to CSK’s liking. Mitch Santner and Imran Tahir helped tie up the batsmen in the middle while Deepak Chahar and Sam Curran were effective in picking up wickets.
For once, the CSK batting fired and chased down a smallish total with ease.
We may see a few changes in the team as CSK wants to try out its entire bench ahead of the next match. Constant chopping and changing is never a good sign and that can affect the performances of the existing players as well.
Looking at the lineup from the previous match, we don’t think CSK has suddenly found the answer to all of its problems. They had a good day and won but that does not make them a great side. Ruturaj Gaekwad will be tested by the KKR fast bowlers and there more than enough spinners to make batting difficult in the middle.
We are not sure of Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, and Sam Curran are going to be entirely comfortable against the KKR spinners. CSK has batted well in just one match and struggled in most others. Keep that in mind.
They do have the bowling to ask questions of the opposition but there are no obvious match-winners here either.
Ruturaj Gaikwad, SR Watson, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni, Narayan Jagadeesan, Mitchell Santner, Ravindra Jadeja, Sam Curran, Karn Sharma, Deepak Chahar, Lungi Ngidi.
KKR lost its previous match because of its batting. We had highlighted the possibility of a collapse as they are playing with one batsman short and that was what happened. Nitish Rana failed after his great inning against DC and that set the stage for a mini-collapse. Rahul Tripathi has been poor in recent matches and Dinesh Karthik is struggling massively. Both these players may keep their place in the side but that is only because KKR does not have too many other compelling options on the bench.
Shubhman Gill and Eoin Morgan were the best players in the previous match. They both played freely and looked in good touch right up until they got out. Sunil Narine may enjoy playing against CSK seeing as they lack a genuine fast-bowling option and have plenty of spinners in their lineup.
KKR has to consider beefing up it's batting, though. Kamlesh Nagarkoti did not bowl a single delivery in the previous match and so they clearly have the bowling to manage without him. We think the addition of a batsman would be great but they have just Nikhil Naik and Rinku Singh on the bench.
Playing Tom Banton instead of Pat Cummins is a big risk but one that may be on the cards. If Andre Russell were fit, he could have replaced Cummins and provided an easy solution to KKR’s team balance issues.
There are a lot of things that KKR needs to get right. It had the perfect game against DC where everything went right and a really poor one against KXIP. Which KKR will turn up in this next game is the question that remains to b answered?
Shubman Gill, Nitish Rana, RA Tripathi, Dinesh Karthik, Eoin Morgan, RK Singh, SP Narine, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Pat Cummins, Lockie Ferguson, Varun Chakravarthy.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first. While both teams have won chasing, the conditions may force the captain that wins the toss to bat first and set a target.

The conditions in Dubai have tilted towards the bowlers. The playing surface has become slower and slower with accurate spin being particularly difficult to score off. The lack of pace has also meant that the batsmen are not finding the boundaries as easily.
A score of around 160 is going to be competitive and anything more is potentially match-winning. Expect a low-scoring attritional contest between these two teams.

Neither of these teams is well-balanced in our opinion. They are playing with a team that is prone to collapses and everything needs to go right for them to be really successful. Overall, though, we think KKR has better batsmen like Gill and Morgan in its side. It also has a better bowling attack than CSK.
Bet on KKR to win.
We don’t rate Ruturaj Gaekwad very highly and think he has a long way to go before being the finished article. Pat Cummins, Prasidh Krishna, and even Lockie Ferguson could end the CSK opening partnership pretty quickly.
KKR has Shubman Gill and Nitish Rana, who scored a match-winning 80 plus score just one match back. Bet on KKR.
This is a pretty low number and the risk here is that one set batsman from either side could take the tally beyond 10. Taking the slow conditions and the relative batting strengths of the two teams, we think a low-scoring match is likely. Bet under 11 sixes in total to get paid here.
This is the kind of bet that we like. There is no specific bowler or batsman or even team that you have to pick. Both teams have some good bowlers to put pressure in the powerplay and getting an early wicket is extremely likely in our opinion. With the pressure of scoring quickly always around, this could be an easy win for anyone putting some money on the line.
One of the most consistent batsmen in IPL 2020, Gill is in great form coming into this match. He bats during the powerplay and has the god-gifted ability to find the gaps. We think he can get 3 boundaries or more even if he plays for 25 balls total. A 70% return on your stake is too good a market to pass upon.
