CSK vs SRH Match Prediction - Apr 09, 2022

It would be surprising to many that the four most consistent sides in the history of the Indian Premier League are all currently sitting in the bottom half of the ladder in the ongoing edition of the tournament. Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians, and Delhi Capitals have struggled to gather consistency, and the performance of Chennai Super Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Mumbai Indians has been furthermore disappointing.

Up next in the tournament, one of these sides will get off the mark on the ladder as Sunrisers Hyderabad lock horns with Chennai Super Kings in an important bottom-drawer contest. Both these sides have looked listless in the tournament so far and will want to turn their fortunes around with a win here. The match between the two sides is to be played at the D.Y. Patil Stadium, Mumbai on Saturday, 9th April 2022.

CSK vs SRH Team Previews

Chennai Super Kings

Clearly apparent from the post-match presentations, Chennai Super Kings may not have pressed the panic button yet, but they are certainly not too far from doing so. They have already lost three matches with all of those coming on the back of pretty poor performance with the bat. Their bowling too hasn't looked equipped enough to deal with the high-scoring venues, at least up until now.

While Chennai Super Kings have pretty much the similar kind of depth they had last year but converting that into the performances is something that's been missing. Moeen Ali and Ruturaj Gaikwad are both yet to deliver anywhere near their best and getting something from at least one of them would be imperative for CSK to get off to a good start with the bat.

On paper, Chennai Super Kings still have a reasonably well-balanced side but batting available right throughout the order. Perhaps the only thing they would want to strengthen is the bowling in slog overs and if they can do that in the upcoming match, getting past them is going to be very difficult.

Chennai Super Kings Playing 11

Ruturaj Gaikwad, RV Uthappa, Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Maheesh Theekshana, Chris Jordan, Mukesh Choudhary.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

Things haven't been going the Sunrisers' way ever since the beginning of the last season. They lost Rashid Khan even before the auction and based on the early cues, David Warner never was going to join Sunrisers back. Banking upon Kane Williamson, both as a batsman and as a skipper, Sunrisers Hyderabad have not got their return on investment yet.

If their auction strategy was wayward, their in-game strategy so far has been on another level. On top of that, the players have not responded well with the bat and that has been the primary reason that the Sunrisers continue to languish near the bottom of the ladder. They were mighty close to a win in their previous match but some brain-fade batting at the death cost them the match.

On the bowling front, however, the Sunrisers have done, which is surprising to see given that they no longer have Rashid Khan, who earlier used to drive their bowling attack in the middle overs. The likes of Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, and Washington Sundar have done well with the ball and will want to continue doing that. We might see a slight change in the upcoming match, but it could be a little too soon to their liking. All in all, the Sunrisers Hyderabad will absolutely need to step up their game with the bat and if they can do that, getting past them could prove to be extremely difficult, especially given the bowling attack they have.

Sunrisers Hyderabad Playing 11

Abhishek Sharma, KS Williamson, RA Tripathi, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran, Shashank Singh, Washington Sundar, Marco Jansen, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan, Umran Malik.

CSK vs SRH Betting Tips

This is an important game of the tournament with both sides in a soup at the moment. A win here could work wonders for the winning team, not just for the time being but also to define the tournament. While there is nothing to separate the two on the basis of form, Chennai Super Kings look a bit better-balanced, at least on paper. For that reason and the others stated above, we will be placing our bets on a CSK win and so should you. Back CSK to win.

Although batting has not fired big-time for the Sunrisers, scoring well against a relatively weaker bowling attack would be something that they would relish. Chennai, on the other hand, have a decent batting unit that can take on any on their day. Considering that and the other factors, a bet on the match total to exceed 340 runs seems an excellent option.

Kane Williamson may not have had a decent start to the tournament and already has a poor record against the Super Kings, he is someone who knows how to get back from behind. We think that he will be able to play a captain's knock tomorrow a bet for Williamson to score a fifty is something that we will certainly take.
