Mzansi Super League 2019 has been a tough one for Durban Heat so far. The side has only been able to play in two of its six completed matches and lost both of them by a very close margin, As a result, it is now second from the bottom in the MSL League Table and needs to start winning very soon.
Cape Town Blitz also suffered a loss in its previous match, its third in six matches and it too is outside the top-3 right now, which is the qualification zone in MSL T20. Both the teams need to win this match otherwise their ambitions of making the playoffs will take a hit.
Cape Town Blitz vs Durban Heat MSL T20 is going to be played at Newlands, Cape Town on the 28th of November 2019.
We think Cape Town Blitz has underperformed its potential so far in MSL 2019. On paper, Cape Town Blitz has a spectacular batting lineup and a very decent bowling side as well. That has not translated as well as it should have into performances, though, as the batsmen keep throwing away their wickets after getting starts and the bowlers giving up loose deliveries in crucial situations.
Quinton de Kock is a prime example of this. He has looked good in every single match so far but he hardly has a big score to his name. As one of the premier batsman of his side who opens the inning, this is just not acceptable.
Janneman Malan seems to have tapered off after his 99 not out in the opening match and Liam Livingstone is guilty of throwing away plenty of good starts as well.
Is there a need for major changes in the side? We don’t think so but it is high time that the senior players start taking more responsibility on their shoulders.
The addition of Mohammad Nawaz to the side paid immediate dividends as he bowled three overs for just 23 runs and then top-scored with 41 off 23 balls down the order as well. In fact, his heroics almost won the match for Cape Town Blitz from a very tough position.
Dale Steyn has been phenomenal for Cape Town Blitz while Vernon Philander, Sisanda Magala, Wahab Riaz, and Mohammad Nawaz are all very good bowlers as well. This is an international quality bowling attack that should win a couple of more matches for its side.
Quinton de Kock, Janneman Malan, David Bedingham, Liam Livingstone, Asif Ali, Aviwe Mgijima, VD Philander, Mohammad Nawaz, Wahab Riaz, SSB Magala, DW Steyn.
Durban Heat lost its previous match against the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants in the last over and continued to search for its first win of MSL 2019. Durban Heat actually recovered from a very poor start with the bat in the previous match as they were 50 for 4 at one point in time.
David Miller and Ravi Bopara then stitched together a brilliant hundred run partnership to take Durban Heat to a very competitive total. While it is a great sign for Durban Heat that David Miller and Ravi Bopara are in good form, the lack of runs from the top-order is a big concern.
Alex Hales, Wesley Marshall, Wihan Lubbe, and Dane Vilas all batted in the top-4 for Durban Heat in the previous match. We expect experienced players like Hales and Vilas to be able to make more of a contribution to the batting effort but that has not happened so far.
With Phehlukwayo also in the side, Durban Heat is a very strong batting side on paper. Once again, though, translating that form into performance is not going to be easy against a talented bowling attack.
Keshav Maharaj, Kyle Abbott, Malusi Siboto, and Shaun von Berg were all a part of the bowling attack for Durban Heat. The bowling for Durban Heat is not poor but it is certainly among the weaker bowling units in the MSL.
A lack of genuine pace and a wicket-taking wrist-spinner could cost Durban Heat heavily in this match and further ones in this tournament.
AD Hales, Wesley B Marshall, Wihan Lubbe, DJ Vilas, David Miller, RS Bopara, Andile Phehlukwayo, K Maharaj, Marco Jansen, KY Abbott, MP Siboto.

The weather forecast for Cape Town is quite good and we should be able to see a full game without the rain interrupting. The pitch at Newlands is brilliant for batting and we usually see some very high-scoring matches at this venue.
A good amount pace and bounce to work with for the batsmen coupled with a lightning-fast outfield all spell some tough times for the bowlers.
A score of around 170 should be seen as par at the venue.
Dream11 Team and Dream 11 Prediction for Cape Town Blitz vs Durban Heat. We are going heavy with the Cape Town all-rounders since they appear to be excellent value for what they offer We also think it is a good time to back a big inning from Quinton de Kock.
