Dubai Capitals

Rovman Powell will lead the Dubai Capitals side and also be one of their main batters. He has Joe Root, Hazratullah Zazai, and Dan Lawrence for support in the team. Chriag Suri is also expected to play as one of two local players mandated to feature in the playing eleven. 

Niroshan Dickwella should take up the gloves while Bhanuka Rajapaska is away on international duty. Fabian Allen, Ravi Bopara, Isuru Udana, and Ravi Bopara are the all-rounders that are currently available in the squad. We think they give the Dubai Capitals a lot of flexibility and depth to work with. 

Robin Uthappa and Yusuf Pathan are both in the squad. We think they might end up playing to attract some Indian viewers but how useful they will be at this stage in their careers is debatable. 

Mujeeb ur Rahman and Fred Klaassen are the out and out bowlers in the lineup. 

Abu Dhabi Knight Riders

A strong West Indian flavor runs through the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders. They have Andre Russell, Kennar Lewis, Sunil Narine, Akeal Hosein, Raymon Reifer, and Ravi Rampaul in their squad. We don't think all of them will end up playing but Russell, Narine, and Hosein are sure to feature.

There is no doubt about just how good Narine can be in this format of the game. He will bowl his four overs economically and may end up scoring some valuable runs as well. Russell and Hosein were in terrific form during the BBL and will come into the IL T20 full of confidence. 

Paul Stirling, Colin Ingram, and the rest of the all-rounders form a pretty formidable batting lineup. 

Brandon Glover and Ali Khan give two good options to use from the associate nationals as mandated by the rules of the tournament. We think the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders go into this match the deserving favorites.
