It is a short turnaround for the Delhi Capitals as they are going to be in action soon after their win against the Rajasthan Royals. They are going to be taking on the Chennai Super Kings in what promises to be an enthralling contest.
DC is on the top of the IPL 2020 standings right now with six wins out of eight matches. It may have lost a lot of players due to injury and team balance issues but someone or the other seems to continue firing.
CSK, on the other hand, is struggling. Three wins from eight matches have left it 6th on the IPL 2020 standings right now. Things can change quickly, though, and we have all seen CSK turn things around after a poor start to their campaign.
DC vs CSK IPL 2020 is going to be played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah, on the 17th of October 2020.
The Delhi Capitals managed to win in their previous match against RR even though they did not play their best cricket. Their fantastic bowling attack bailed them out and helped them defend a score that was at least 15 runs too short.
There was, however, evidence that DC is paying very close attention to strategy and individual performances. Shikhar Dhawan seemed to have been given specific instructions to play freely and to not slow down after getting a start. That was something he was guilty of doing in the past.
The addition of Tushar Deshpande was a bit out of the blue but he delivered in the death, just like the bowling coach had said he would.
There are a few problems, though. Rishabh Pant could miss this next game against CSK once more, although, he is close to a return. If he does miss then Ajinkya Rahane and Alex Carey are going to get another chance to make an impression.
The loss of Pant and Hetmyer in the middle is a big one considering how fluently both of them were batting. Their absence also increases the pressure on Marcus Stoinis.
DC still has a very strong batting lineup, though, and we think they match up well against the CSK bowlers. The real strength of DC has been its bowling attack. Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada have been brilliant for them in every single match that they have played.
With those two, you already have eight overs in the powerplay and the death that are going to be very difficult to score off. Axar Patel has given away just two sixes in the entire tournament so far and we know that Ashwin is world-class as well.
No wonder then DC is on top of the current standings.
Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer, Marcus Stoinis, Alex Carey, Axar Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Tushar Deshpande, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje.
CSK has a tough task on its hands but we expect it to give a much tougher fight to DC than it did in the previous match.
The CSK batsmen seem to have made a deliberate effort to try and bat more aggressively from the start. Faf du Plessis, Shane Watson, Ambati Rayadu, and perhaps Sam Curran at the top of the order could give CSK some decent starts.
MS Dhoni has also been trying to play more freely without worrying about getting out.
He is, however, not at his best, and to expect too much from him is dangerous. Ravindra Jadeja has been batting pretty well and is it is good to see him bat at 6 where he can make regular contributions.
CSK’s batting is not naturally suited to Sharjah, a high-scoring venue and we cannot help but think one out of Watson or de Plessis has to make a massive score to be able to challenge DC.
It will be interesting to see if CSK makes a change to its bowling attack for this match. Playing both Piyush Chawla and Karn Sharma, as they did in the previous one, could be a bit of a gamble. Maybe the fact that the Sharjah pitch has spun significantly in the second inning of the two previous matches could help CSK to keep the same combination.
The lack of a genuine fast bowler or top-quality wrist spinners makes CSK vulnerable against the strong DC side.

The toss is going to be very important in this match and we believe that the team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first. Teams are now batting first because the pitch slows down while chasing. We saw the average score go down in Sharjah in the previous two matches and yet the chasing team was unsuccessful. The team batting first should be seen as having a big advantage.

We are going to be in Sharjah for this match, the highest-scoring venue of IPL 2020. We have seent he side batting first have a huge advantage in the previous two matches here. Perhaps, that could be true for this match as well.
Overall, we are sure that the batsmen are going to be able to enjoy the conditions on hand. Maximizing the new-ball is going to be key on a slow surface and a lot of sixes are going to be hit throughout the match.
A score of 200 is no longer the minimum that teams must get but anything less than 180 is going to be tough to defend.
Dream11 tips and Dream11 team for DC vs CSK IPL 2020
DC has been playing very well and seems to have the basics covered. The only weak spot in that lineup right now is Ajinkya Rahane and he is quite capable of turning things around as well. A better batting-lineup and a clearly superior bowling lineup give the advantage to DC.
The only way that CSK can win is by a brilliant inning from Watson or du Plessis at the top.
Bet on the Delhi Capitals to win.
We are playing in Sharjah and the two teams have some terrific batsmen to lead their lineups. The odds are not extremely great, considering how big a deal a century is, but then Sharjah is a small ground. We think there is a good possibility that one player from the side batting first could get stuck-in and score a century.
Dhawan is in great form and we know he can make the most of such spells in his career. Dhoni too is batting with freedom and looking to clear the boundaries from early in his inning. Both of them being able to clear the small Sharjah boundary at least once is something we are happy to punt on.
This one is more about the bowling that the teams are going to face. DC is going to face a pedestrian CSK bowling attack while CSK is going to face what is perhaps the best bowling attack in IPL 2020. We have no hesitation in sticking with DC for this bat. You can easily more than double your stake with this bet.
Let us stick with six theme for Sharjah and finish with another bat that has a great chance of paying off. Stoinis is in great form and is one of the best strikers that DC has in its lineup. He is going to be batting one position higher than normal as Hetmyer is not available. We definitely back him to clear the boundary at Sharjah at least once in his inning!
