We have come a long way across in the eleventh edition of India Premier T20 competition, IPL, and things are beginning to take shape beautifully here. Three teams have already sealed their places for the playoffs and only the last place is up for grabs. Also, with Chennai Super Kings having already confirmed a place in top two, Delhi Capitals will be looking to seal the deal with a win in the next match. They are set to host Rajasthan Royals in their upcoming match, the last for both the sides in the round-robin stage, which is to be played on 4th May at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi. For Rajasthan Royals, this game is a matter of survival in the tournament provided the result of Kings XI Punjab and Kolkata Knight Riders goes there way.
Delhi Capitals have been brilliant this year and that's a fact. However, their brilliance has been coupled with inconsistency, to say the least. Furthermore, their batting has looked a little fragile with only Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer doing well in their last few matches.
Delhi Capitals heavily depend on their quick bowling department to deliver the good, and rightly so considering the firepower they have in their attack. The likes of Ishant Sharma, Chris Morris, and Kagiso Rabada wreaked havoc in the earlier games of the tournament which is also reflected from the tournament's bowling statistics. Having said that, Kagiso Rabada has been called back home by Cricket South Africa considering the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup in mind.
The Capitals haven't really enjoyed playing at the surface here. Ricky Ponting has so often shown his discontent with surface often assisting spinners more than the quick bowlers. All in all, Delhi is an excellent side which despite being a little inconsistent in the tournament has found their place in the top four and it would be interesting to see how they fare with Rabada no longer available to play.

Rajasthan Royals have a history of being in a position from where not only do they need to win all their matches but also they need some of the other results to go their way.
While many would have expected the Royals' campaign to go downhill once Jos Buttler left, they have actually improved and that too with a massive degree. Their success in the second half has been largely due to their youngsters stepping up along with Ajinkya Rahane's improved batting at the top of the order and Steven Smith's captaincy.
The department which has taken a huge hit with English players departing has been their bowling. While Varun Aaron has been brilliant in the powerplay overs, he hasn't really been effective at the death. Shreyas Gopal has been mighty effective in the middle-overs and he has been pretty handy with the bat as well lower down the order. All in all, the Royals look a pretty decent side and although they do not look as strong on paper as most of the other sides in the tournament do, they have actually punched well above their weight, thanks to some excellent team-play and brilliant captaincy.

If the result of the other game happens to go Royals' way, the stakes of this game will get raised by a significant margin, at least for the visitors. Even if it does not, the Royals will want to register a win in the upcoming contest so as to avoid getting a wooden spoon. Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, will be looking to get back to the winning ways after getting a heavy drubbing at the hands of Chennai Super Kings. A win for them will provide them with a chance to finish among the top two teams which is something they'll be aiming for.
Considering the two teams on paper, the Capitals look slightly better than the Royals. However, the Royals have the experience in their top-order and have been good form in the last few matches. Additionally, Delhi Capitals haven't really enjoyed playing at slow surfaces and on the contrary, the Royals have a tailor-made bowling attack for these sort of surfaces. For those reasons, we think that the Royals are better placed to win the upc
