IPL 2019 group matches have come to an end and for the first time in the history of the IPL, a team has managed to reach the playoffs with just six wins to its name. The fact that the lower five teams are separated by just one win and the top-3 teams are separated by just the net run-rate shows that the competition was very close.
The IPL 2019 Eliminator is going to be played between the Delhi Capitals and the Sunrisers Hyderabad at Visakhapatnam. This will be the first time that the venue is being used in IPL 2019 and so we can hopefully expect some excellent batting conditions for this contest.
Delhi is the only team in IPL history to have never won an IPL playoff match while the Sunrisers have been used to reaching IPL finals for the last few years. Both the Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad are going to without some of their key players for this match.
The side which handles the pressure better will emerge victorious.
Delhi won its last group match against Rajasthan quite comfortably. It was played on a sharply turning track where Rishab Pant played an important inning to help guide his side to victory. Thankfully for them, the eliminator is going to be played at Visakhapatnam, a venue that produces some of the flattest batting conditions in the country.
The Delhi Capitals have done well on good batting wickets throughout IPL 2019 and will be glad to get a similar wicket for the Eliminator as well.
Players like Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer, Colin Ingram, and Rishab Pant all like the ball coming on to the bat. Dhawan has been the highest scorer for Delhi this year but he is not the only batsman to have done well.
Iyer and Pant have also played some important inning to give the Delhi side a lot of batting depth. Colin Ingram has not been able to have much impact so far and Prithvi Shaw has also struggled for consistency but they are both likely to get another chance in the IPL 2019 Eliminator.
Delhi has been hit with an injury to Kagiso Rabada and that could be very crucial at this stage of the tournament. His replacement, Trent Boult, is also a world-class player but has not had the same kind of success in the Indian Premier League.
The pitch in Visakhapatnam also has a little something in it for the spinners, so we definitely think Amit Mishra and Axar Patel will keep their place in the eleven. Delhi will have to think whether they want Chris Morris in the side or stick with Keemo Paul.
Morris is more experienced but has not been in good form. For a big match like this one, We think Chris Morris may make a comeback into the side.
The biggest risk for the Delhi Capitals is going to be getting nervous. They are a young side with players that have not been here before and that could be crucial.
Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Colin Munro, Shreyas Iyer, RR Pant, Sherfane Rutherford, Axar Patel, Keemo Paul, Amit Mishra, I Sharma, TA Boult.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad lost their previous match to the Royal Challengers and still ended up making it to the playoffs. The Sunrisers ended up winning just six out of their 14 matches showing just how much of a struggle this IPL has been for them.
Now, without the services of David Warner and Jonny Bairstow, winning against a strong Delhi side is going to be very tough. Of course, the Sunrisers just have to look to last season when they reached the final of the tournament without these two players.
That was the time when Kane Williamson was in peak form and with a 790 not out in the previous match, it looks like Williamson is getting back to his best again.
The Sunrisers have a weak batting lineup that must hope for some runs from its overseas players. Martin Guptill, Kane Williamson, and Mohammad Nabi all have an important role to play in getting enough runs for their side.
These three and Manish Pandey can definitely pose a threat to the Delhi bowling attack.
The lack of runs from Vijay Shankar and Yusuf Pathan is glaring but the SUnrisers don’t have enough options to replace both of them. Maybe Deepak Hooda gets a chance in this match in place of Pathan but Shankar is going to keep his place.
Khaleel Ahmed, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan, and Mohammad Nabi form a good bowling core. Basil Thampi has also been quite effective to give the attack a very balanced look. Overall, the Sunrisers are a dangerous side that has a dependable bowling attack but a shaky batting lineup. If they can get that part of their game in order then they have an excellent chance of winning.
WP Saha, Martin Guptill, Manish Pandey, KS Williamson, V Shankar, Mohammad Nabi, Deepak Hooda, Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed, Basil Thampi.
The team winning the toss is likely to want to bat first. This is an important match and having runs on the board is always preferable. There is also a chance that the pitch could take more turn as the match progresses.

The IPL 2019 Eliminator between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad is going to be played at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam. Clear skies and humid conditions are expected on match day.
This is the first match of IPL 2019 being played at the venue and we hope to see a good batting surface. A couple of matches here in the past have been played on very spin-friendly surfaces. For a match of this significance, though, surely the organizers would have prepared a surface which allows an exciting match to be played.
We are making the Dream11 team for the IPL 2019 Eliminator between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad assuming that the pitch is going to be good for batting. We wil update the Dream11 team on Twitter after the pitch report and toss. Please follow @cricketbettings for the latest updates.
Wicketkeeper: Rishab Pant is in good form after having scored a fifty in the previous game. He bats lower down than Wriddhiman Saha but his batting is much better and that is why we have picked him in the team.
Batsmen: There is no doubt in our mind that match is going to be decided by the Delhi top-order. We have picked Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer in our Dream11 side. This gives us three out of the top-4 in the Delhi side. We have also picked Manish Pandey, Martin Guptill, and Kane Williamson from the Sunrisers. With 6 out of the top-8 batsmen in our side, we are well set for a high-scoring match.
All-rounders: We have picked Axar Patel and Vijat Shankar from this category. Axar Patel is bowling quite well and will definitely get four overs while Vijay Shankar could be useful in case the Sunrisers lose some early wickets. We could substitute him for a bowler depending on the pitch report.
Bowlers: We have picked Basil Thampi, Rashid Khan, and Keemo Paul in our team right now. Rashid Khan and Basil Thampi are sure starters but the same cannot be said of Keemo Paul. His selection may have to be reviewed later.
Captain and Vice-Captain: We have selected Shikhar Dhawan and Kane Williamson as our captain and vice-captain respectively for this match.

The Delhi Capitals have won nine out of their fourteen matches this season and are in pretty good form. The Sunrisers have been a bit more unpredictable thanks to their batting problems. We believe that the experience of having played a larger number of knockout matches and a better bowling attack gives the Sunrisers the advantage.
Bet on the Sunrisers Hyderabad to win.
