This edition of Indian Premier League continues to amaze with every passing match. Not for the first time this year, Chennai Super Kings bounced back from a position of nowhere to a win against RCB in their last game. With almost half the games gone, RCB would need to make a move from here and so does Delhi Daredevils. DD have won just one game out of six and are languishing at the bottom of the table. Adding to their woes, Gautam Gambhir stepped down from captaincy earlier today. They'll take on Kolkata Knight Riders in their next game who are sitting pretty in the middle part of the table despite getting a thrashing from KXIP in their last match. The match will be played at Feroz Shah Kotla where Delhi will be looking to turn things around with their new captain.
Just like this season's IPL, Delhi Daredevils have surprised one and all. First when they chased down a tall total against Mumbai Indians and then when they failed to chase a modest total against KXIP. Their biggest surprise, perhaps the surprise of the tournament, from and to the team is a resignation from their regular skipper Gautam Gambhir.
Delhi Daredevils haven't played well so far in the competition and GG's performance has resonated with Delhi's performance. In a total of six matches, Gambhir has hit just one half-century and has followed that with a string of single digit and low-double-digit scores.
Shreyas Iyer, their new captain, has done particularly well and it will be interesting to see how he fares while captaining the side. In the last game, Daredevils made as many as five changes to change their fortunes. It worked for their bowling but dropping Roy had such an effect on their top-order that no one except Shreyas Iyer took the responsibility of staying at the crease.
We may once again see a lot of changes in the Daredevils' squad in their upcoming game against KKR. Nothing has gone their way so far in the tournament and as we approach the half-time in the tournament, it's high time for the Double Ds to start putting up some responsible performances.
Prithvi Shaw, Colin Munro, Glenn Maxwell, RR Pant, Shreyas Iyer, V Shankar, R Tewatia, LE Plunkett, Amit Mishra, Avesh khan, TA Boult.
KKR's last game was decided early and without the completion of full 20 overs, but it wouldn't have made any difference anyway. KKR received a thrashing defeat at the hands of Kings XI Punjab who chased down an above-par total in quick time.
Barring their last match, KKR's bowlers have done reasonably well. The spin trio of Kuldeep Yadav, Sunil Narine, and Piyush Chawla have kept the breaks on the scoring rate in the middle overs whereas Andre Russell has bowled to the plan during the death overs.
From the last two games, KKR has followed a strategy of going all guns blazing till the last delivery of their innings and it has paid off beautifully so far. Sunil Narine perished quickly to Mujeeb Ur Rahman, but Chris Lynn continued on his way to scoring a personal score of 74. Robin Uthappa and Dinesh Karthik batted beautifully, but rare failures from Nitish Rana and Andre Russell pull their score back an at least ten runs.
Andre Russell has been an integral part of their death bowling as well as batting planning and he'd need to step up and be more consistent. Nitish Rana has been in terrific touch and so has Robin Uthappa. KKR is a compact team and gets an extremely well-balanced team who'd like to grow stronger in the upper half of the points table by posting a win in this all-important match.
Chris Lynn, SP Narine, RV Uthappa, Nitish Rana, Dinesh Karthik, Andre Russell, Shubman Gill, MG Johnson, Piyush Chawla, Shivam Mavi, Kuldeep Yadav.
A slow wicket which will tend to get better as the match progress. Expect both the skippers to after winning the tips first.

Delhi's pitch is usually known to be slow, but batting friendly, but the two matches that have been played here have proved otherwise so far. Spinners have thrived on the slow wicket and we might see dew making a mark. With the conditions expected to improve the time, toss will be of utmost importance and teams will be looking to chase first.
In the last match between the two teams, which was played at Eden Gardens, KKR assaulted Delhi Daredevils and stunned them with a 71-runs defeat. KKR will be anticipating a new-look side which may have different faces but will be a strong one with plenty of talent in Delhi dugout. Give the way the two teams have played in the IPL so far, picking KKR to win this match would be the way to go.
