Dhaka Dominators

Dhaka Dominators have been rather inconsistent this season and are languishing second from the bottom of the points table. With just 3 matches to go for them in the Group stage, the Dominators will need to win each of them to keep a mathematical chance alive for moving into the knockout stage.

Usman Ghani played a superb knock of 73 runs in the last match to get his team to a respectable total of 144 in the first innings. But the bowlers were unable to defend the total as they crashed to their 7th defeat of the season. Salman Irshad picked up 2 wickets but was very expensive, while Taskin Ahmed bowled an economical spell but went wicketless.

Captain Nasir Hossain has been by far the best performer for the Dominators this season with a brilliant all-round effort for his team. However, he hasn’t received much support from the top-order batsmen. The likes of Soumya Sarkar, Mizanur Rahman, and Mohammad Mithun have failed to score big runs so far.

The bowling has been a bit better though as the seamers Taskin Ahmed and Al-Amin Hossain have managed to pick up wickets quite frequently. If the Dominators want to end their campaign on a high, they will need to work harder on their batting for these last few matches. 

Barisal Bulls

The Barishal team management has picked up some of the best available all-rounders for their side and the strategy has reaped great benefits as they consistently find themselves within the top 2 on the points table. Barishal has lost just 2 of the 8 matches that it has played so far and is second on the points table, trailing Sylhet by 2 points.

However, to their advantage, Barishal has played one game less, and a win here will take them to the top thanks to a better NRR.

Fortune Barishal faced the Chattogram Challengers in their latest encounter and defeated them by 3 wickets in a thrilling encounter. Chasing a stiff target of 169, Barishal were off to a shaky start as they lost 4 wickets, including that of Shakib Al Hasan inside the first 10 overs with just 79 runs on the board and seemed to be heading for a second consecutive defeat.

Anamul Haque however played superb innings of 78 runs of 50 deliveries to shepherd his team close to a win. Karim Janat gave the chase some finishing touches, scoring a brilliant 31 of just 12 deliveries to give his team a memorable win in the final over of the match. Shakib and Iftikhar Ahmed, two of the top scorers for Barishal had an off day but will be hoping to bounce back soon.

Kamrul Islam and Khaled Ahmed both picked up 2 wickets each in the last match, with the latter now becoming the joint-highest wicket-taker in the squad. With such a well-balanced team, Fortune will be looking to score an easy win here.
