It is difficult to pin down exactly why the Dhaka Dynamites started to lose matches so suddenly. They went from being a side that was waltzing through the tournament to one which has to struggle to qualify.

We think that part of the reason has to be the many changes they made to their playing eleven over the last few matches. Kieron Pollard had to sit out for a few matches, Upul Tharanga opened the batting in the last match, and Sunil Narine has been shunted all over the batting order as well.

One of the things that the Dhaka Dynamites must do is to back their best players. What is the point of having Andre Russell and Kieron Pollard in the side if they don’t have enough time to make an impact?

Both the players were very effective in the CPL where they batted up the order. Surely giving them a go and taking a punt on them succeeding is worth it in this must-win match.

Even Shakib Al Hasan has been a bit out of form over the last few matches. As the captain of the side and another world-class all-rounder, Shakib AL Hasan would be expected to play a leading role in this match also.

The bowling attack for the Dhaka Dynamites is very balanced on paper. The three all-rounders can all bowl their full quota of over while Rubel Hossain and Shuvagata Hom are regulars in the national side as well.

The shift back to the Shere Bangla Stadium could be good for the Dhaka Dynamites. They will be playing in front of their home crowd and have the bowlers to be able to take advantage of the conditions.

The batting also has the power to be able to get to defendable totals. The only question now will be putting it all together.

Khulna Titans

It is going to be quite ironic if the Khulna Titans end up preventing the Dhaka Dynamites from qualifying for the playoffs. The Khulna Titans have been the worst side in this season of the Bangladesh Premier League while the Dhaka Dynamites are the best side in the history of the competition.

On a player to player basis, the Khulna Titans don’t have the side to match up to the Khulna Titans. Brendan Taylor, Dawid Malan, Carlos Brathwaite, and David Wiese are very talented players but they are not considered the best players on the T20 circuit.

All of these players are also not at their best in the slow conditions in Bangladesh and that has been a large reason why the Khulna Titans have not done well. Brendan Taylor is perhaps the only player to have scored runs consistently and his elevation to the opening role is a good one.

Mahmudullah has been very disappointing in this season of the Bangladesh Premier League. As someone who is going to be one of the main batsmen for Bangladesh in the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, his poor form is going to be concerning to all the fans.

The bowling for the Khulna Titans is very weak and they are going to struggle to stop the strong Dhaka batting lineup.

The Khulna Titans should not be winning this match on the basis of current form and everything that we have seen in this season. They have the players to be able to win matches through sheer brilliance and that is the only thing that the Khulna Titans fans will be pinning their hopes on.
