Lancashire has been one of the most impressive sides in the T20 Blast 2019. It is unbeaten after four matches, one of which was rained out and will now travel to Derby to try and maintain that winning record against Derbyshire.
As things stand, Derbyshire is at the other end of the points table right now. They have played three matches and won two out of those to be at the very bottom of the North Group standings.
There are several problems in the Derbyshire T20 side but we don’t think they are so bad as to finish dead last. Turning things around against Lancashire is not going to be easy but Derbyshire has to try.
Derbyshire vs Lancashire T20 Blast 2019 is going to be played at the County Ground, Derby.
A poor bowling performance from Derbyshire allowed Nottingham to get close to 200 runs in their previous match and that turned out to be too much for their batsmen to chase. Derbyshire started the tournament with a very good win against Yorkshire but that performance is starting to seem like a fluke.
We don’t think they are going to be able to win too many more matches or contend for the playoffs if they continue to bowl like this.
Ravi Rampaul is the senior most bowler of the side and has the most international experience. He has not been able to lead the bowling attack as can be expected.
With Mark Watt, Logan van Beek, Mathew Critchley, and Alex Hughes, the bowling lineup of Derbyshire is definitely not at the same level as the best teams in this tournament. They are going to need one of their bowlers to have a great game against Lancashire’s strong batting lineup.
Derbyshire’s batting has also been pretty disappointing. They are dependent on Wayne Madsen and Luis Reece for most of their runs and when those two don’t fire there is very little to fall back upon.
Billy Godleman led the way against Yorkshire with a match-winning performance but his consistency is always going to be under question.
Derbyshire has a few good players to work with but the rest of the team is pretty poor.

Lancashire can lay claim to being the strongest team in the Vitality T20 Blast 2019. Their batting is loaded with T20 stars and some ferocious big hitters while their bowling is very good as well.
There are not too many weaknesses that we can find and the big players seem to be hitting form at the right time as well.
Liam Livingstone, Alex Davies, Steve Croft, Glenn Maxwell, and Dane Vilas are probably the strongest batting lineup in this competition. Every single batsman in that list goes for the bowling from the very start and has the capability to play a match-winning inning. It also helps that all of them have scored runs in the T20 Blast 2019 already and are full of confidence.
Saqib Mahmood has made a big difference to the bowling for Lancashire ever since his return from injury. He is going to be a handful to face for the Durham batsmen. James Faulkner, Richard Gleeson, and Matt Parkinson round out a very good T20 side for Lancashire.
The start to Lancashire’s T20 Blast 2019 has been brilliant and we think they have a very good chance to open up some lead between themselves and the others in the North Group.

The team that wins the toss is going to want to bowl first with all the rain around.

Derbyshire vs Lancashire T20 Blast 2019 is going to be played at the County Ground, Derby. The weather forecast for the match is not good at all. There is a lot of rain predicted in Derby and we will have to be very lucky to get any cricket in whatsoever.
The pitch at Derby is good for batting and allows the payers to stroke the ball freely. If we do get some cricket then we think a score of around 180 should be considered par for the surface particularly if Lancashire is batting first.
Derbyshire may be playing at home but we don’t think it has any real advantage. Lancashire’s batting is much too strong and its bowling a lot better than what Derbyshire has to offer.
Bet on Lancashire to win.
