DER vs WRW Match Prediction - Jun 03, 2021

With England vs New Zealand series going on, the focus is a bit off from County Championship but the excitement there is certainly growing. We are already into the back-end of the championship and the competition is getting tougher with every passing match.

The next match is going to be played between Derbyshire and Warwickshire beginning on 3rd June at Incora County Ground, Derby.

DER vs WRW Team Previews

Derbyshire

With seven matches already gone for them, Derbyshire do not really stand a chance to rise up the ladder. At the moment, they have 58 points to their name and are yet to win a match. With only three games to go, they do not have enough time to avoid the wooden spoon and consequently a relegation to Division 3.

Derbyshire are coming off a massive loss in their last match as they were thrashed by an innings and 23 runs at the hands of Worcestershire. The loss took their tally to three losses from seven matches.

In the tournament up until now, Derbyshire have depended heavily on Matt Critchley, who has not only performed well with the bat but also with the ball. He has picked up 21 wickets and has scored 648 runs in the championship. However, he is unlikely to be available for the upcoming match. In his absence, Fynn Hudson Prentice and Harvey Hosein will really have to step up their game, who have done a decent job up until now. If they can do that, Derbyshire should be able to present a tough challenge to Warwickshire.

Derbyshire Playing 11

Billy Godleman, Luis Reece, Brooke Guest, Wayne Madsen, Ben McDermott, MJJ Critchley, AL Hughes, Anuj Dal, Ben Aitchison, Michael Cohen, Sam Conners.

Birmingham Bears

Coming off an emphatic win over Nottinghamshire in the previous match, Warwickshire are well within the touching distance of finishing at the top fo the Group 1 points table. With 100 points, Warwickshire are only 7 points away from Essex, who have played a match extra.

Warwickshire have been pretty consistent throughout the season and almost all of their players have contributed reasonably well. The key architects for their performances so far have been Danny Briggs, Will Rhodes, Oliver Hannon Dalby, and Liam Nowell. Talking about form, Warwickshire have lost just one of their last five matches and that would certainly boost their confidence. Apart from the above-mentioned players, Rob Yates has been in superb form in the last few matches, and given the odds at Parimatch, it seems to be a good punt for him to be the top-scorer for Warwickshire in this upcoming match.

All in all, Warwickshire have been exceedingly effective with their style of play, and with almost all of their players doing well, they'll be a confident unit. They have the momentum and getting past them is going to be a tough challenge.

Birmingham Bears Playing 11

Will Rhodes, Robert Yates, Pieter Malan, Sam Hain, Matthew Lamb, Michael Burgess, Tim Bresnan, Danny Briggs, Craig Miles, LC Norwell, Oliver Hannon-Dalby.

DER vs WRW Betting Tips

While the head-to-head record between the two sides is even stevens, Derbyshire haven't really been themselves in the season so far. They are yet to get off the mark and will be down on confidence. Warwickshire, on the other hand, are in terrific form at the moment and have the momentum. For those and the above-stated reasons, betting on a Warwickshire win makes all the sense.
