The Vitality T20 Blast has gotten off to an exciting start with players like AB de Villiers and Cameron Delport showcasing their batting talent. Unfortunately, the rain has also played spoilsport in a few matched. This T20 Blast match is going to be between Derbyshire and Yorkshire at Queen’s Park, Chesterfield.
Yorkshire’s opening match against Nottinghamshire was abandoned because of rain. This is, however, the first scheduled match for Derbyshire in T20 Blast 2019.
Yorkshire is missing some of its key players due to the upcoming Ashes but it still has a very good selection of players available. Both Derbyshire and Yorkshire had a very disappointing Vitality T20 Blast 2018 and failed to make the playoffs. Getting off to a good start is very important since some lost points because of rain are always around the corner.
The Derbyshire Falcons were a hard side to predict last season. They swung between patches of terrible cricket to be absolutely unstoppable. This was reflected in their results as well. They lost four matches on the trot to start the season and then went on a five-match winning spree to put themselves back in the hunt.
Ultimately, though, the poor start was too much to recover from.
This season, Derbyshire has been rocked by some injuries before the start of the season. Billy Stanlake and Kane Richardson are not going to be able to join the club because of injuries and that has left Derbyshire a bit shorthanded.
The 14 man squad named for the match has some good options but that one standout international player is missing.
Billy Godleman, Wayne Madsen, Luis Reece, and Leus de Plooy are going to be leading the batting effort with some help from the all-rounders as well. Darren Stevens is expected to play his first match for Derbyshire while Logan van Beek is also in line to play his first T20 for the club.
Ravi Rampaul’s international experience is going to be very important Derbyshire but overall, the bowling looks a little bleak to us.
Luis Reece, BA Godleman, WL Madsen, A Leus du Plooy, Darren Stevens, Fynn Hudson, MJJ Critchley, D Smit, Logan van Beek, MRJ Watt, Ravi Rampaul.
Yorkshire would be itching to get on the park after having sat out the first match due to rain already. The Yorkshire side is loaded with batting talent and we think this is one of the matches they would have targeted for a potential win early in the campaign.
The Yorkshire batting is going to be led by Nicholas Pooran, Gary Balance, Adam Lyth, and Tom Kohler-Cadmore. This is a very impressive lineup. The obvious focus is going to be on Nicholas Pooran after his impressive showing in the World Cup.
We are very excited to see what he can do against some of the county attacks he is going to play. Pooran made his name in the Caribbean premier league as a batsman who can play at any position and take the attack to the opposition from the very first delivery.
He is not the only big-fish here though. Gary Balance and Adam Lyth are two pretty under-rated T20 batsmen. They can score runs at a very impressive run-rate without taking unnecessary risks.
The bowling is also very good thanks to the presence of Tim Bresnan, Josh Poysden, David Willey, and Duanne Olivier. Oh, and lest anyone forget the batting capability of David Willey, he has one of the best six-hitting records to his name in the entire T20 Blast and has more than a couple of centuries to his name as well.
Yorkshire can afford to go hard from the very top of the order and have enough firepower to not worry about a couple of early wickets.
Adam Lyth, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, GS Ballance, David Willey, Nicholas Pooran, Harry Brook, Jonathan Tattersall, Jordan Thompson, Matthew Fisher, Dominic Bess, Josh Poysden.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first. The pitch is going to be flat and will not change during the forty overs. Losing the toss is not going to be much of a disadvantage.

Derbyshire vs Yorkshire Vitality T20 Blast 2019 is going to be played at the Queen’s Park, Chesterfield. The weather is expected to nice and sunny around the time when the match is scheduled to start. We should be able to get a full game in without any interruptions.
The pitch at Chesterfield is going to be good for batting. There is no doubt that the T20 Blast is all about sixes and the groundsmen are going to do their best to provide a fitting surface.
Expect a score of about 180 to be par at this venue.
Dream11 prediction for Derbyshire vs Yorkshire is going to based around the batsmen. There are some excellent hitters of the cricket ball on both teams and we believe the conditions are going to be favorable for them as well.
Wicketkeeper: We have Nicholas Pooran from this category. he is easily one of the most exciting youngsters to have emerged in the cricketing world and his forte is T20 cricket. Look to him to make a big mark on the T20 Blast 2019.
Batsmen: Adam Lyth, Bily Godleman, Gary Ballance, and Will Madsen are the four batsmen we have chosen for our Dream11 team for Derbyshire vs Yorkshire T20 Blast 2019. Godleman scored an aggressive fifty against Yorkshire the last time these two teams met and let Derbyshire to victory. Having him and Madsen provides most of the batting talent in Derbyshire while Adam Lyth and Gary Ballance are two of our favorite T20 batsmen for this competition since they often fly under the radar.
All-rounders: We have picked David Willey, Luis Reece, and Darren Stevens in our team. Willey is a clean hitter of the ball as is Reece while Darren Steven is going to bowl in the end-overs for Derbyshire.
Bowlers: Ravi Rampaul, Duanne Olivier, and Mark Watt are the three bowlers we have picked. Rampaul and Olivier bring international experience to the table while Watt is pretty effective in T20 cricket as well.
Captain and Vice-Captain: We have picked Nicholas Pooran as captain and Adam Lyth as vice-captain for our Dream11 picks for Derbyshire vs Yorkshire T20 Blast 2019.
Yorkshire appears to be the stronger side to us in terms of batting firepower and bowling depth. Derbyshire has a couple of players that can play the brilliant individual knock to help win the match but overall, we think they are outmatched against Yorkshire.
Bet on Yorkshire to win.
