With just a couple of weeks left before the tournament ends, the latest edition of the 4-Day Franchise Series in South Africa and the Dolphins will take on the North West Dragons for a Division 1 contest on Sunday.
North West Dragons are currently at the bottom of the points table and with just 2 matches to go, are already out of the title race. However, the Dolphins are 3rd on the table, trailing the leaders, the Western Provinces, by just 7 points, and will be looking to win this match to move to the top.

Dolphins
After losing their opening game of the season, the Dolphins have managed to turn things around and are now riding on a 3-match winning streak as they enter this contest.
Sarel Erwee has been excellent as an opening batsman and will be looking to give his team a good start as he pairs up with Bryce Parsons. While Marques Ackerman and Khaya Zondo haven’t been in the best of forms this season, Jason Smith has lent some stability to the middle order.
Andile Phehlukwayo is a good all-rounder in the team but hasn’t got many chances with the ball so far. The inclusion of JJ Smuts adds depth to an already strong batting line-up and the Dolphins will be hoping to put up a big score here. Smuts and Prenelan Subrayen were superb with the ball in the previous match, as they picked up a total of 19 wickets between them.
The pace attack will be led by Ottniel Baartman and will be supported by Thando Ntini. The quicker bowlers however have enjoyed limited success so far.

The Dragons will be pretty disappointed with their performance this season as they have failed to register even a single win after playing 5 matches. The team has lost 2 games, and have drawn 3, and managed to collect just 35 points.
The batting has been a big letdown for the Dragons this season as none of the batsmen have been able to score consistently. Lesego Senokwane is the top-scorer for the team so far with 199 runs in 6 innings but he will need to do much more if the team wants to end the season on a high.
He will be looking for some support from his fellow top-order batsmen, Grant Mokoena and Shaylen Pillay, both of whom have played a couple of good innings but have failed to build up momentum. The middle-order batsmen including Duan Jansen and Christopher Britz have been underwhelming, to say the least, and will be looking to contribute in a better way here.
Delano Potgieter has been excellent with the ball, picking up 15 wickets, and has also done a decent job with the bat. Potgieter is the joint-highest wicket-taker for the team this season along with Renaldo Meyers. However, the other bowlers, including Senuran Muthusamy, have struggled throughout the series.

Pitch and Conditions
The pitch at Durban offers plenty of assistance to the seamers as it provides consistent bounce. The ground occasionally sees windy weather as it lies in the vicinity of the ocean, and the bowlers can get some good swing. However, the surface gets easier to bat on as the match progresses. Anything over 200 will be tricky to chase here in the 4th inning.
