With a massive win over Cape Cobras, Titans strengthened their supremacy at the top of the table and became the first team to book a berth in the semifinal. They are set to face Dolphins in their upcoming encounter which is to be played at Durban on 15th March. Dolphins, just like the Titans, have had a superb run in the tournament thus far and are on the third spot with four wins in six matches. A win here will ascertain their spot in the top-four, but considering the way Titans have performed, it's not going to be easy. With both teams in superb form and looking to add points in their kitty, we expect a cracker of a contest on Friday at Durban.
Dolphins had a terrific start to the tournament, winning all of their first three games, but two losses in their last three matches have certainly slowed them down. Barring their win against Knights, they've been highly inconsistent in the tournament of late.
Quite remarkably, all of their last three matches were affected by rain which impacted them negatively on two occasions. Batting first in their last match, against Cape Cobras, the Dolphins would have felt reasonably happy after scoring 218 in the allotted 28 overs. It took a monumental effort from Erwee, who scored 116 off 82 deliveries, but no real contribution from anyone else and a mini-collapse towards the end overs left them around 20 runs short.
One can argue that the pitch got easier to bat on as the match progressed, but the Dolphins bowlers weren't disciplined either. Keshav Maharaj leaked plenty of runs and returned with the expensive figures of 44 in 5 overs without any success. Although Savage picked up a wicket, he conceded 40 runs in his three. Barring Mungroo and Subrayen, all Dolphins bowlers were carted away by Janneman Malan and JP Duminy as the Cobras eventually killed the chase with eight wickets in hand and two overs to spare.

Titans continued to build onto their superb run in the tournament as they racked up their fourth consecutive win in the tournament after being in a not-so-good position at one point in time. Even though the Titans were favorites to win in their game against the Cobras, they weren't really expected to produce such a dominating performance, especially with Aiden Markram absent from the side.
Chasing a below-par total of 152, their batsmen never looked in trouble as they over-hauled the total without any loss. However, Jonathan Vandiar walked out retired after his 28-ball 31-run stay at the crease and the extent of the injury he sustained is yet to be known. DS Rosier was, in particular, extremely server on Cobras' bowlers as he smashed them to all parts and played a 92-run knock in just 62 deliveries.
Although the dominance of their batsmen during the chase cannot be overstated, the win was set up by their bowlers who restricted Cobras to a small total. Chris Morris did exceedingly well and returned with the impressive figures of 4 for 23 in eight overs. Junior Dala too exhibited great skill with the ball as he sent back four Cobras' batsmen at the expense of 27 runs.
Up until the last match, it was Titans' batting which was reaping rewards for them. However, such a brilliant performance from their bowlers would have instilled a lot of confidence among the players. With both departments firing from all cylinders, beating Titans isn't going to be easy for any side, not that it already wasn't.

Often we have seen that the clash for the top spot in the points table ends up being highly exciting and eventful. Titans and Dolphins have been the two best sides of the tournament. Titans will be pumped with a wonderful performance from their bowlers in the last match before their batsmen cruised to the total without any fuss. The Dolphins, on the other hand, haven't been playing the way they did in the first half of the tournament and will be looking to garner some momentum with playoffs not so far. Considering the teams on paper and recent form, the Titans appear to be a better team and are firm favorites to emerge on top in the upcoming encounter.
