With a tournament of stature as big as Indian Premier League going around in an international circuit, it gets difficult for other T20 tournaments to get into recognition. CSA T20 Challenge, the longest running T20 competition in the history of cricket is going well and strong and is setting up for a tight finish. Dolphins and Warriors are sitting next to each other on the points table and will be looking to rise to the third position when they take on each other on Wednesday, 17th April at Kingsmead Oval, Durban.
The Dolphins weren't really impressive in the Momentum One Day Cup barring a couple of matches and the same has been the case in the ongoing CSA T20 Challenge as well. Out of four matches played thus far, the Dolphins have emerged victorious in just one and have a negative net run rate of 0.238.
While there are teams with net run rates of more than them in negative, with warriors being one of them, the Dolphins haven't really been in the kind of form they'd have liked. They failed to chase down a mediocre target of 153 against Cape Cobras.
Bowling first on a surface conducive to quick bowling, the Dolphins' bowlers started off well with the wicket of in-form Janneman Malan and then of Bedingham to rock Dolphins. However, they failed to display the same kind of sharpness and efficiency in the latter end of their innings as the Cobras succumbed to just 152 - which, too, the Dolphins failed to chase.

Just like the Dolphins, Warriors too arent in a superb position as far as the points table is concerned. They are just one position above Warriors and that too due to the courtesy of an additional no-result game they've had in the tournament so far.
Their last match, against Lions, was displayed in which they were in a reasonably good position after scoring 155 in 18.4 over while batting first. However, prior to that, things weren't as breezy as they lost a closely fought encounter to Cape Cobras, who currently occupy the first slot in the ladder.
Batting first on an easiest of batting surface, the Warriors batsmen collapsed in front of a bowling lineup which is although not as renowned, but still pretty good on paper. Their bowlers fought well to overhaul the target but were highly incompetitive against the powerful Cobras' lineup as Warriors lost the match with a little under five overs to spare.

Up until now, the Warriors have certainly played better as far as the points table is concerned despite being in a similar position in the points table. Cape Cobras have clearly been a side better than both of them and the respective margin of wins demonstrate that. Considering these two sides on paper and on-form, there's not a much to separate between them. Having said that, the Dolphins are playing at home and appear to be a wee bit better balanced than the Warriors and are therefore are pick to emerge on top in the upcoming encounter.
