DOL vs WPR Match Prediction - Oct 29, 2022

The Dolphins will play their final league match in the ongoing season of the CSA T20 Challenge on Saturday, against the Western Province. The Dolphins are the favorites to win this match, and most betting sites are providing pretty short odds for their victory. The punters should look for some side bets to make the most gains out of this game.

DOL vs WPR Team Previews

Dolphins

The Dolphins’ latest match was scheduled against the Knights but was abandoned due to rain. As a result, it was forced to share points with them, and dropped down to the 3rd spot, conceding the 2nd place to the Knights, who have a better NRR. A win in this match will help the Dolphin seal a berth in the semi-finals.

Grant Roelofsen is in excellent form, and is the top-scorer for his team as well as in the League, with 278 runs. However, other than him, none of the batsmen have been in good form. This heavy reliance on the wicket-keeper batsman could cause problems for the Dolphins if Roelofsen gets dismissed early. Ottniel Baartman has picked up 12 wickets so far and is the joint-highest wicket-taker in the league.

He has been supported well by Eathan Bosch and Prenelan Subrayen. Together, they are capable of restricting the Western Province to a small total.

Western Province

The Western Province had a disastrous start to its campaign, losing each of its first 3 matches. However, they did manage to turn things around in their last match, beating North West by 27 runs. They are 7th on the points table and have only a theoretical chance of finishing in the top 4.

Daniel Smith and George Linde have played well in patches, but have received little support from the other top-order batsmen. Tshepo Moreki is the top wicket-taker for his team, but he, along with the other bowlers, has failed to make a big impact on the opposition batsmen.

However, given that most Dolphin batsmen are in poor form, this will be an interesting contest.
