Now that the intriguing battles in the longest version are over, the focus shifts to the shortest version of the game. Women's Big Bash League is about to get over and Mzansi Super League is in it's final stage as well. The T10 Competition in Abu Dhabi had a lot of success and yet another T10 tournament on the similar lines is set to begin in Qatar. The tournament is set to begin on 7th December and the second match of the tournament is to be played between Desert Riders and Swift Gallops on Sunday, 8th of the same month at West End Park International Stadium. Both the sides are equipped with experienced players and we expect a cracker of a contest on Sunday.
Led by Sohail Tanvir, Desert Riders have some of the most experienced players of the game. Sohail Tanvir was the pick of the bowlers for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League, way back in 2008, and has played across the globe in different cricket leagues. He has kept his performance up and will be a key figure in the upcoming match as well.
Alongside Sohail Tanvir, they have Oshane Thomas, who can be a dangerous bowler to face. With the bat, they have the likes of Khurram Manzoor and Chundangapoyil Rizwan at their disposal. Most of the talent poor is domestic and it remains to be seen how the Riders are going to perform in the upcoming encounter. Having said that, a lot will depend on the performances of their overseas stars.
Mujeeb Khan, Mohammad Hafeez, Ajay Lalcheta, S Tanvir, Awais Malik, Muhammad Ikram, Himanshu Rathod, Imal Liyanange, Adnan Mirza, Muhammad Tanveer, Sibtul Hasnain Baig Mirza.
As is the case with the Riders, the Gallopers too are over-reliant on their overseas players. The difference is that most of their strength is concentrated in the batting department. Captained by Luke Wright, the Gallopers have one of the best batting lineup in the competition.
They have Luke Wright and Imran Nazir available at the top of the order with Shafiqullah Shafiq and Chirag Suri to follow them. Besides them, they have Danza Hyatt and Richmond Mutumbami in their overseas department.
Kamran Akmal, Inam-ul-Haq, Zaheer Ibrahim, Jahanzeb Naveed, Sufyan Mehmood, Syed Tameem, Sadiq NM, Zain Uddin, Gayan Wimalshantha, Mughees Bajwa, Ravinderpal Singh.
Although a lot would depend on how their local players fare, but the difference is likely to be created by the overseas stars. On that account, the Gallopers are a little heavier than Riders, at least on paper, and are therefore, our pick to emerge on top in the upcoming fixutre.
