About the Match
It’s back to northern rivalry as Durham Dynamos and Nottinghamshire Outlaws lock horns in a crucial encounter. The Dynamos lost to Leicestershire in a last over thriller last evening and now this game against the Outlaws may well decide their future for the rest of the tournament. This match will be played at Chester-Le-Street on Sunday, 6th July 2013. Outlaws will be targeting to stay the top of the table and a win in this game would certainly take them clear of Derbyshire with whom they are jointly placed separated only by net run rate. It is an important encounter in context of the points table and a cracking contest is on the cards.
The Dynamos haven’t started their campaign as well as they’d liked to. After picking up a much needed victory against Yorkshire in their second game, the Dynamos lost to Leicestershire Foxes in a crucial game. With two losses in three games and to add to that a subtraction of .25 points from the total, they face the threat of going to the bottom of the table if Yorkshire wins their game. Clearly, the absence of Paul Collingwood was felt in the middle in the last match as their batting order collapsed after coming within the reach of the target. Before that, Phil Mustard and Ben Stokes smashed Foxes’ bowlers to all parts of the ground. They have an excellent batting lineup with flair of Stokes combined with experience of Mustard and they are still a tough team to face.
It has been topsy-turvy track for Dynamos in this Friends Life T20 so far. They’d be looking to make it straighter with a few more wins under their belt. Can they leave their losses behind and beat the table toppers Nottinghamshire Outlaws in a crucial match? The Outlaws are looking in rampaging mood and have won all their games quite convincingly. Their batting is in fabulous form with Hales and Lumb scoring quickly. David Hussey strengthens their batting in the middle and brings in experience to the side. In combination to their fine batting, they have a decent bowling attack. Durham might have to face yet another defeat as the Nottinghamshire looks to be more likely to win this match.
