ENG vs NZ Match Prediction & Betting Tips - Nov 01, 2022
A loos to Ireland and some untimely rain have put England in a tough spot to qualify for the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022. It absolutely has to win this match against New Zealand. Of course, when it comes to qualification chances, New Zealand is in a great position with two wins (and a rained-out match) from three matches.
It would take a sustained set of poor performances for New Zealand to not make the knockouts.
England and New Zealand have not played against each other too often in the recent past. Three out of the previous five matches have been won by New Zealand with England winning the other two (including one in a Super Over).

ENG vs NZ Team Previews
England
England will be praying the rain does not intervene and play spoilsport in this crucial encounter. Thankfully, it appears as if the rain will clear well before this match is scheduled to start. We have seen a strangely subdued England with the bat in this tournament.
Jos Buttler and the England team management have not been able to use the superb resources at their disposal efficiently. Alex Hales has yet to make a mark at the top of the order and Dawid Malan + Ben Stokes are struggling with their strike rate. Harry Brook has also not been able to live up to expectations so far.
Liam Livingstone and Moeen Ali, perhaps the two best T20 players in the England lineup after Buttler, have not got enough time in the middle. We could see some changes in the batting order but this is a vulnerable batting lineup, no matter how you look at it. It could be in trouble against the in-form New Zealand bowling attack.
England's bowling has been good without being spectacular. Chris Woakes has been punished and has not gotten the amount of help with the new ball that was expected. Sam Curran, Mark Wood, and Adil Rashid are the other leading bowlers of the team.
Apart from Wood, we think the rest of the bowlers could struggle as they lack the pace and do not get the movement to trouble the batters.
England Playing 11
Jos Buttler, AD Hales, Dawid Malan, Ben Stokes, Harry Brook, Moeen Ali, Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood, AU Rashid.
New Zealand
New Zealand's approach in the T20 World Cup 2022 has been fearless. They have made some strong decisions, like backing Finn Allen over Martin Guptill, and they have paid off. It helps that Devon Conway is in great form and Glenn Phillips is having a great tournament as well.
This gives New Zealand a dangerous batting lineup with Kane Williamson the only outlier. He has neither got runs nor has not been scoring at a good strike rate either. If Williamson does not start playing a bit more freely, his presence at the crease ends up being a hindrance to the New Zealand cause.
Jimmy Neesham, Mitch Santner, and Daryl Mitchell are in the lineup and they add a lot of depth to the batting.
New Zealand's bowling attack has been the most effective at picking up wickets early. Trent Boult and Tim Southee have been at their best with fantastic support from Lockie Ferguson as the third seamer. Jimmy Neesham is perhaps the only weak link in this bowling attack. Also, a combination of Ish Sodhi, Mitch Santner, and Glenn Phillips is required to bowl 8 overs in most matches.
That can be something that a strong batting lineup like England tackles.
New Zealand Playing 11
Finn Allen, Devon Conway, KS Williamson, Glenn Phillips, Daryl Mitchell, James Neesham, Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi, TG Southee, Lockie Ferguson, Trent Boult.
ENG vs NZ Toss Prediction
The team that wins the toss is likely to want to bat first. Getting runs on the board in a high-pressure match is always preferable.

Pitch and Conditions
The conditions in Brisbane are quite overcast and a lot of rain is predicted for the first half of the match. The second half should be better, though, and it could all clear up well before the match is supposed to start. The rain is likely to make the pitch a bit spicy and the outfield a bit slow.
A score of around 150-160 should be quite competitive.
ENG vs NZ Betting Tips
We are going to back New Zealand in this contest. Not only has New Zealand been in better form so far, but it is also under lesser pressure coming into this contest. The form of its two new-ball bowlers makes it very dangerous and we think it could make things tough for the England batters that tend to struggle against high-quality swing.
To get New Zealand at odds of almost 2.5x is an excellent opportunity.
Bet on New Zealand to win.
