ENG vs PAK Match Prediction & Betting Tips - May 17, 2019

The ongoing ODI series between England and Pakistan has been a splendid exhibition of power-hitting and a nightmare for bowlers thus far. Apart from the match that was washed out, we have seen 300 being scored in both the innings of both the matches which is by no way a mean feat. Going by this trend, we are likely to see yet another display of fireworks with the bat in the fourth match of the series which is to be played at Trent Bridge, Nottingham on 17th May. While England have looked ruthless and clinical in all the matches played so far, Pakistan have been more or less failed to match the level of cricket played by the hosts. Having said that, there are the areas where the home team too will be keen to improve on and therefore a cracking contest is certainly on the cards.
ENG vs PAK Team Previews
England
England in the recent times are known for their batting prowess and considering they have notched the figure of 300 runs more often than not and even 400 on a few occasions. Apart from their batting, it has been Morgan's stellar on-field decisions that have been responsible for England's resurgence after a poor World Cup campaign in 2015.
Following slow over rates in back to back matches, England would be at a loss of his captain in the upcoming match which would certainly be a huge setback for them. Eoin Morgan has been in spectacular form for England in recent times and averaged more than 80 in his last fourteen years until the last match.
England would be pretty relieved to see Ben Stokes find some form in the last match as he scored almost a run a ball in the third ODI as England overhauled the majestic total of 359. Their batting has been a powerhouse with the likes of Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler, Joe Root, and Jos Buttler in fabulous form. They bat deep with almost everyone in their playing eleven capable of hitting the ball right from the word go.
While their batting has been second to none, their bowling will be a cause of concern for their management. Almost all of their bowlers have been thwarted in almost all of the matches. Jofra Archer was a refreshing addition to the squad, but he hasn't played since his fine spell in the first - washed out fixture. It's only their bowling which has caused them troubles in recent times if any. If they're able to do anything about it in the two upcoming fixtures, it would be near impossible to beat them in the upcoming marquee ICC event.
England Playing 11
J Vince, JJ Roy, JE Root, Jos Buttler, BA Stokes, Moeen Ali, Joe Denly, Jofra Chioke Archer, AU Rashid, Tom Curran, M Wood.
Pakistan
Pakistan may have lost two back to back games, they would have taken plenty of positives from their two defeats. Their openers, Fakhar Zaman and Imam Ul Haq have scored in abundance with both getting a century each in two matches. The performance of Asif Ali has been refreshing for Pakistan considering the fact that they were desperately looking for someone to play the role of a finisher.
Historically, Pakistan have been known for their bowling prowess, but coincidentally they have been found wanting in the same department. Their new ball bowlers have struggled to pick up wickets, which has resulted in Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy racking up plenty of runs in the powerplay overs.
All in all, Pakistan have punched well above their weight in the series so far and apart from their bowling, everything has appeared to have clicked for them. They haven't been too off from their opponents in the two matches gone so far and even the slightest of improvement will see them presenting a hard challenge for the hosts.
Pakistan Playing 11
Imam-ul-Haq, F Zaman, Babar Azam, Mohammad Hafeez, Sarfraz Ahmed, Shoaib Malik, Asif Ali, SI Wasim, Hasan Ali, Mohammad Hasnain, Junaid Khan.
ENG vs PAK Betting Tips
With three matches gone in the series, the scoreline of 2-0 might suggest two one-sided affairs. However, the two matches turned out to be a lot closer than expected. Pakistan have certainly performed better than the sum of their parts. England, on the other hand, have been fantastic in the two matches and barring expensive bowling, everything has worked flawlessly for them. They are likely to miss the services of their regular skipper, Eoin Morgan, but they still appear to be a better side between the two, at least on paper. They have the home advantage and are firm favorites to win the upcoming match and seal yet another One Day International series.
