Amidst the season of T20s with so many different domestic T20 leagues being played across the globe, there is an intriguing battle going on in the longest format of the game, between England and Ireland, which is currently hanging on the knife's edge. With Ashes set to begin in a few days, these are not good signs for the English cricket team. Their women's team is coming off a drubbing in the two longer formats of the game and will be looking to redeem some pride in the shortest version of the game, first of which is to be played on the evening of 26th July at County Ground, Chelmsford. Australia are already ahead in the series and left England with no possibility to retain the trophy. England are in a nothing to lose situation which could turn out to be the much-needed tonic for them to play fearless cricket.
Coming into the Ashes, this English was on a terrific winning spree, but they have been well and truly outclassed by the Aussies in this series. They looked listless as well as clueless in the ODI series and were poor, to say the least in the one-off Test. They have not to lose and everything to gain from this T20I series and will be looking to give their everything to get a favorable result.
Heather Knight and Daniele Wyatt have been the two most prolific batsmen for them since the World Cup final last year, but they both haven't impressed as much in the series so far. Also, the lack of support from the other members of the team have mounted additional pressure to perform on them, which they haven't able to cope up with.
They have a decent bowling lineup for the shortest format of the game with a good number of options available without any compromise on the batting quality. Natalie Sciver has done exceedingly well on this tour and has contributed well with both the bat and the ball. They'd need contributions from all their players, and if one of those can play an inspirational innings or perhaps bowl and terrific spell, it won't be surprising if England get off to a positive start in the shortest version of the game.
Amy Ellen Jones, Tammy Beaumont, Heather Knight, Natalie Sciver, Katherine Brunt, Danielle Wyatt, Kate Cross, Lauren Winfield, Sophie Ecclestone, Laura Marsh, Anya Shrubsole.
Australia have already retained the trophy and are currently have the 8-2 lead. Almost everyone have contributed for them in the series gone so far, and while they a few areas to improve in, they are too few and not of significant importance.
Australia's star players, Alyssa Healy and Ellyse Perry have been splendid in the tournament so far. They've done the bulk of the scoring for them along with their other middle-order batsmen, and once again their performance will be critical to their success.
Bowling-wise as well, Australian skipper enjoy the luxury of having plenty of options at her disposal with a couple of excellent all-rounders available in the squad including Perry. Ashleigh Gardner, who has been terrific in recent times, will lead their bowling attack. Her unique bowling spell in the T20I World Cup final will still be fresh in the minds of English women and will not like to give her easy wickets.
Alyssa Healy, Beth Mooney, Meg Lanning, Ellyse Perry, Ashleigh Gardner, Rachael Haynes, Sophie Molineux, Jess Jonassen, Georgia Wareham, Delissa Kimmince, Megan Schutt.

There's been plenty of daylight between the two sides in the tournament so far. Australia have outplayed, outthought, and outwitted England on all accounts and won't be an easy side to deal with in the T20I series. They have some excellent hitters of the ball, and the experience of playing in the Big Bash League has undoubtedly helped them in the T20s. The Aussies have a better side on paper and have fared a lot better than the hosts and are therefore our pick to emerge on top in the first T20I of the series.
