About the Match

Test cricket is set to come to life again with men's Ashes about to begin in a couple of days. For English women's, however, the Ashes hasn't been as productive as they would have liked it to be. They were comprehensively beaten in all formats of the game and with just one match remaining, they have nothing to lose and everything to play for on Wednesday, July 31st. The match is set to be played at the County Ground, Bristol. Australian women, on the other hand, have been terrific on this tour and have appeared to be in a rampaging mood. Apart from being overwhelming in the two longer formats of the game, the lone Test and ODIs, they have been terrific in the two T20Is as well. They are expected to make a few changes to their playing eleven in the upcoming match, to test their bench strength, but will certainly offer no respite to hosts on the match day.

Match Preview

England Women

England have failed to deliver anything of substance whatsoever despite being hosts on this surprising tour, to say the least. Coming into the ODI leg of the tournament, they were on a remarkable record win strategy but failed to sustain that. They have one final chance to redeem themselves, probably the best, as they take on the Aussies in a nothing to lose scenario.

In their last match, the second T20I of the series, English batting flopped once again as they ended up putting up a total of just 121 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs. Their bowlers tried hard upfront and brought them in a good position, but the lack of support in the middle-overs from rest of their bowlers meant that they could not capitalize on the start as the visitors cruised to yet another victory.

England have so far been dismal on this tour and have failed to make an impression in any of the three formats. They have a decent team on paper, but the pressure to perform has got to their nerves. They are in a nothing to lose situation and will be playing for their pride and could very well express themselves and close the series on a high.

England Women Starting Lineup

Amy Ellen Jones, Danielle Wyatt, Tammy Beaumont, Natalie Sciver, Heather Knight, Lauren Winfield, Katherine Brunt, Anya Shrubsole, Mady Villiers, Sophie Ecclestone, Kate Cross.

Australia Women

Australia have done exceedingly well in this tournament, turning everything they touched into gold, and are coming on the back of an inspiring win in their last fixture. Both their batsmen and bowlers have performed exceptionally and appear to be in the form of their life.

Elysse Perry has been their prime performer in the series, racking up runs and picking up wickets, and will be looking to continue to build on that. She has become the first player to rack up 1000 runs and pick up 100 wickets in T20I cricket, first in men's and women's cricket combined.

We expect them to rest a couple of their players which could give England a bit of an opening. Regardless of that, they have pretty good bench strength and will not be an easy side to beat in the upcoming contest as well.

Australia Women Starting Lineup

Alyssa Healy, Beth Mooney, Meg Lanning, Ashleigh Gardner, Ellyse Perry, Rachael Haynes, Jess Jonassen, Delissa Kimmince, Tayla Vlaeminck, Megan Schutt, Georgia Wareham.

Match Prediction

While the Aussies were favorites to win the series all along, the series was never expected to be as one-sided as it has been. Australia have been relentless in the tournament whereas England have underperformed as compared to what was expected from them. On paper, there isn't a lot of disparity between the two sides, but differences in the performances on the field has left everyone wondering. Comparing the two teams on the performance in this tour, the visitors have done better than the hosts, and are, therefore, better placed to emerge on top in the final fixture of this tour.
