The group stages of the Caribbean Premier League are over and it is time for the big games now. The Guyana Amazon Warriors have made history by winning all ten of their games in the group stage (https://www.onlinecricketbetting.net/cricket-betting-tips/gaw-vs-tkr-05-oct-2019/) and have blazed their way into the CPL 2019 Qualifer1.
They are going to be up against the Barbados Tridents, a side that has been a little inconsistent but peaked at just the right time to secure the second spot on the league table.
Both these teams have the advantage of getting two opportunities to make the CPL final. A loss in this game will send them to Qualifier 2 of CPL 2019 to play against the winner of the Eliminator. This safety net is a big advantage to have and will allow the teams to play with the utmost freedom.
It is fitting that Qualifier 1 CPL 2019 is going to be played at Guyana so that the home crowd can come in and cheer its seemingly invincible team.
Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Barbados Tridents Qualifier 1 CPL 2019 is going to be played at the Providence Stadium, Guyana on the 6th of October 2019.
10 matches, 10 wins. Another two victories now and the Guyana Amazon Warriors could lift the CPL 2019 title without dropping a single game. The team has been tested in most of its matches but has come out the other side stronger on each occasion.
There are a couple of big advantages that the Guyana Amazon Warriors have while going into this match. They have played their last two matches in Guyana and are very well adjusted to the kind of conditions they are going to encounter.
They also have a better spin attack then almost any other team in the CPL, which is proving to be a very big factor as the pitches get older.
Chandrapaul Hemraj, Shoaib Malik, Imran Tahir, and Chris Green are four top-quality bowling options. Most of the time, the Guyana Amazon Warriors starve the opposition of any pace for the entire powerplay.
Ben Laughlin and Keemo Paul are only brought in to change things up a little towards the death overs.
This bowling attack is going to be hard to score against for the Barbados Tridents.
The batsmen of the Warriors are also in supreme form. Chandrapaul Hemraj, Brandon King, Shimron Hetmyer, Nicholas Pooran, Shoaib Malik, and Sherfane Rutherford have all played match-winning innings in CP 2019.
Any one of these could do the same in Qualifier 1 and help the side move on to the CPL 2019 final. We don’t think the side minds batting first or chasing down totals.
Brandon King, Chandrapaul Hemraj, Shimron Hetmyer, Shoaib Malik, Nicholas Pooran, Sherfane Rutherford, Christopher Green, Keemo Paul, Romario Shepherd, Odean Smith, Imran Tahir.
The Barbados Tridents have won just five out of their ten matches in the group stage but more crucially, they have won three out of their last four matches. This means that they are coming into this massive match with good form on their side.
We also think that the Barbados Tridents are going to be quietly confident about their chances in this match. We know that spin is going to play a big role in Guyana and the Tridents have Hayden Walsh, Shakib Al Hasan, JP Duminy, and Ashley Nurse to try and make use of the conditions.
This bowling attack may not have the same big names as the Guyana Amazon Warriors but it is a very skilled spin bowling attack.
Harry Gurney, a fast-bowler, is also more renowned for his cutters than any fearsome pace he bowls with.
We don’t think the Barbados Tridents are going to be too worried about their bowling facing up to the Guyana Amazon Warriors batting.
The real challenge for the Barbados Tridents is going to be to bat well enough to win this match. Johnson Charles, Alex Hales, Shakib Al Hasan, JP Duminy, Jonathan Carter, Jason Holder, and Ashley Nurse form the crux of the batting lineup.
There are some very good names in this lineup but they have not performed as per expectations till now. Alex Hales has struggled, Jason Holder is in terrible form, and the others have not been too fluent either.
A couple of early wickets could force the Barbados Tridents to go into their shells and become too defensive.
If any one of their batsmen can have a good game, maybe Hales, then the Tridents are more than capable of beating the seemingly invincible Guyana Amazon Warriors.
J Charles, AD Hales, Shai Hope, Shakib Al Hasan, Jean-Paul Duminy, Ashley Nurse, Jonathan Carter, Raymon Reifer, Jason Holder, Hayden Walsh, Harry Gurney.
The team that wins the match is going to want to bat first. Chasing has been quite difficult on this ground and setting the score may be a big advantage in match of this significance.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Providence_Stadium
The Providence Stadium has provided decent batting surfaces in its last two matches but the inherent nature of the pitch is not going to change. The track is slower than the others we have seen and helps the spinners quite a bit.
Qualifier 1 CPL 2019 is also going to be the third match to be played here in four days.
The surface is bound to get slower and be a bit more difficult for batting in this match. A score of about 150-160 is going to be tough to chase down.
Providence has been a venue where the spinners have done well in most matches. The batsmen from the Guyana Amazon Warriors also have an advantage because they are very well versed in the conditions. The Barbados Tridents have a top-heavy side and so we could try to include most of its established batsmen as well.

The Guyana Amazon Warriors have been simply too good for everyone else so far. Is it time for the law of averages to hit and for them to lose a match? The Barbados Tridents are in good form and certainly have the team to do so. We still think Guyana Amazon Warriors could win this match, though, considering its batting strength, superior spinners, and familiarity with the conditions.
Bet on the Guyana Amazon Warriors to win.
