The Guyana Amazon Warriors finally managed to get their first win of the season thanks to some Shimron Hetmyer brilliance and the Jamaica Tallawahs slumped to first defeat in CPL T20.
We have seen that teams will need to work harder than ever to end up in the playoffs and no match can be taken lightly.
Can the Jamaica Tallawahs actually change things around or are they going to continue to prove to be as listless as ever in this edition of the CPL? The conditions have been wet but we have managed to get a result on all the days of the Caribbean Premier League so far. Let us hope that trend continues.
Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Jamaica Tallawahs Caribbean Premier League 2020 is going to be played at the Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad on the 22nd of August 2020.
An excellent bowling performance from Keemo Paul and a brilliant batting one from SHimron Hetmyer was the backbone of their win against the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots. The Guyana Amazon Warriors have looked a bit rusty in CPL 2020.
They lost their opening match due to a poor bowling performance and apart from Hetmyer, none of their batsmen really fired in the second one either. These are some worrying signs and they will want to correct that as soon as possible.
One of the big changes seems to be in Chris Green’s bowling style. He has jad to change his action and is not able to generate the kind of pace he used to be able to. This means that the Warriors are not getting the economical powerplay overs from him like they used to.
A few more bad performances and there are going to be questions asked about Chrs Green’s place in the side.
The class of the batting is unquestionable, though, and it is just a matter of time before players like Brandon King, Sherfane Rutherford, and Nicholas Pooran join the party and start scoring consistently.
The batting and the bowling looks superiors to the Jamaica Tallawahs for sure.
Nicholas Pooran, Ross Taylor, Shimron Hetmyer, Brandon King, Sherfane Rutherford, Keemo Paul, Christopher Green, Chandrapaul Hemraj, Imran Tahir, Naveen-ul-Haq, Ashmead Nedd.
The Tallawahs have been woeful int their opening two matches. The tactics have been baffling from Powell while bowling and a lot of their senior players look disinterested. The slow surface is not doing them any favors but it really does not look like Andre Russell is happy to be turning out for the franchise at all.
A very strong and dangerous batting side on paper, we just don’t see the conversion happening and a poor start is just going to make all the off-field problems worse.
The one player that has been impressive is probably Glenn Phillips. The Kiwi opening batsman is good against spin and has fought bravely in both the matches he has played. If he can get a big score he could maybe inspire some support from the other batsmen of the team.
The bowling attack of the Jamaica Tallawahs has two world-class spinners. Sandeep Lamichhane has been good in the overs he has bowled but the same cannot be said about Mujeeb ur Rehman.
Ramaal Lewis was pedestrian in the previous match, Oshane Thomas does not seem to be getting a game at all, and Fidel Edwards is a fading star at best.
The Jamaica Tallawahs need to reassess their approach and find a way to make the best utlization of their talent otherwise they are going to continue to scrape the bottom of the barrel in CPL 2020.
CAK Walton, Rovman Powell, GD Phillips, Asif Ali, NE Bonner, Carlos Brathwaite, Andre Russell, Sandeep Lamichhane, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, FH Edwards, Oshane Thomas.
We have seen captains pick fielding after winning the toss on all but one occasion. That is the general trend at this venue and is going to continue especially if there is a threat of rain around.

The conditions have been batsman friendly but also pretty slow. Players that like the ball coming on to the bat have struggled and that is only going to continue. The spinners will have more and more impact as the tournament continues.
We expect a total of around 160 to be very competitive batting first.
Dream11 team and Dream11 prediction for Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Jamaica Tallawahs
We think the Guyana Amazon Warriors should be able to win this match. They have an excellent batting lineup and a very good bowling attack. The Warriors are not playing their best cricket just yet but they are up against a team that seems hell bent on self-destruction.

Highest Score After 1st 6 Overs
Jamaica Tallawahs ($1.95)

Both teams have lost a lot of wickets in the powerplay and that will reduce the rate of scoring of course. In this case, we think it is worth taking a risk because Chris Green could be the perfect fodder for a batsman like Glenn Phillips.
He could propel the Tallawahs to a bigger score and get you paid!
Top Batsman Guyana Amazon Warriors
Nicholas Pooran ($6.00)

We arte Nicholas Pooran very highly. Not only is he a very aggressive T20 batsman but he is also very good against spin. He and Hetmyer are the two main batsmen of the Warriors and looking at the form of the top-order, it is more than likely that Pooran is going to get a good chance to bat a lot of overs.
A risk worth taking considering the player and the return being offered.
Player to score the most Sixes
Shimron Hetmyer ($7.5)

Two matches, two fifties and a lot of sixes so far have shown the kind of form that Shrimron Hetmyer is in.With five sixes to his name in two matches, he is the third on the list for the entire CPL 2020 right now.
The top batsman on that list is also playing this match, Glenn Phillips but we feel he does not match up very well against the bowling attack of the Guyana Amazon Warriors.
