There is perhaps no T20 league in the world that feels as perfect a fit for its region as the Caribbean Premier League. This season promises one of its best yet thanks to some important team changes and transfers that have been made.
The second match of CPL 2019 is going to be played between the Guyana Amazon Warriors and the St. Lucia Zouks. Both these sides come into CPL 2019 knowing that they will have to play out of their skins to be able to make it to the CPL 2019 playoffs.
Some important team section decisions and trying to utilize their resources in the best way possible lie ahead for both teams.
Guyana Amazon Warriors vs St. Lucia Zouks CPL 2019 is going to be played at the Providence Stadium, Guyana on the 5th of September 2019.
Two young West Indian players who have been identified as the future of batting in the region are going to have a chance to make this team their own. Shimron Hetmyer and Nicholas Pooran are going to be teaming up in the Guyana Amazon Warriors and will try to lead from the front in CPL 2019.
We think the pressure is going to be on Hetmyer after some extremely poor shots in the recent test series and even the World Cup. Nicholas Pooran looks more settled and at ease with his game which is something that allows him to be more consistent.
There are not too many top-class batsmen in the side apart from these two. Players like Sharfane Rutherford, Shoaib Malik, Keemo Paul, Chandrapaul Hemraj, and Shadab Khan will all have to contribute in the batting side of things regularly.
This abundance of all-rounders is not something that is unique to the Guyana Amazon Warriors but it will allow them to be competitive against any side that they come up against. Shadab Khan is a brilliant T20 bowler and is sure to thrive.
Ben Laughlin and Veerasammy Permaul are going to be leading the pace attack for the Warriors.
If the top players for the Guayana Amazon Warriors don’t hit form quickly then the side is going to struggle massively.
Chandrapaul Hemraj, Brandon King, Nicholas Pooran, Shimron Hetmyer, Shoaib Malik, Sherfane Rutherford, Shadab Khan, Keemo Paul, Christopher Green, Ben Laughlin, Romario Shepherd.
There has been a lot of turmoil in the St.Lucia side leading up to the start of the CPL because of ownership changes and a lack of clarity about the future of the franchise. As things stand, the St. Lucia Stars are now going to be the St. Lucia Zouks with the same set of players as drafted earlier.
We would be wary of counting out the St.Lucia Zouks, though. They have some very dangerous batsmen that can hit a long ball and have an immediate impact in T20 cricket.
John Campbell, Andre Fletcher, Thisara Perera, Rakheem Cornwall, Darren Sammy, and Kesrick Williams are some of the names that should be in the side for the St.Lucia Zouks for the first match. They have plenty of power and a decent amount of depth in the side to challenge the Guyana Amazon Warriors.
The bowling also has two very good players in Fawad Ahmed and Beuran Hendricks. Lasith Malinga may not be the force he once was but he can still be a handful at this level of cricket.
The fourth and fifth bowlers could be a bit of a concern as Rakheem Cornwall, Darren Sammy, and Obed McCoy will have to combine to fill up that quota of overs.
The St.Lucia Zouks are not the strongest side in CPL 2019 but they are no pushovers either.
Rahkeem Cornwall, N Zadran, ADS Fletcher , Andre McCarthy, Chris Barnwell, Thisara Perera, DJG Sammy, KOK Williams, Krishmar Santokie, Obed McCoy, Fawad Ahmed.

Guyana Amazon Warriors vs St. Lucia Zouks CPL 2019 is going to be played at the Providence Stadium, Guyana on the 5th of September 2019. A little bit of rain is predicted on the morning of the match but nothing around the time the cricket is slated to begin. We should not have any weather-related interruptions to worry about.
The pitch at Providence Guyana has been a bit on the slower side and we hope that the groundsman is able to inject some life in it for the duration of the CPL. Scores of about 160 may be difficult to chase at this venue.

The Guyana Amazon Warriors have some better-known players in their side but we don’t like their chances in this contest. Hetmyer is in poor form, Shoaib Malik is far past his best, and the all-rounders are not too dependable either. St.Lucia Zouks could start CPL 2019 with a surprise win.
Bet on St.Lucia Zouks to win.
