GAWW vs BRW Match Prediction - Aug 27, 2022

It's been only a couple of days since the Women's edition of The 6IXTY competition started and we are already staring at the end of the tournament. We have just a couple of matches to go before we get our finalists and those both are expected to be nail-biting. First of those is to be played on Friday and that will be followed by the match between Guyana Amazon Warriors Women and Barbaros Royals Women to be played on Saturday.

The last match will pretty much have everything riding on it, regardless of what happens in the game prior. The match will be played at the Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts. With the finale spot resting on the result of this match, we expect both sides to come out hard at each other and a cracker of a contest is certainly on the cards.

GAWW vs BRW Team Previews

Guyana Amazon Warriors Women

Guyana Amazon Warriors Women have undoubtedly been the best side of the tournament up until now and the numbers show that. They have played one game less than the Knight Riders and the Royals Women both but are still placed higher on the ladder. A win in one of their remaining matches would push them through to the next round, but this match has its own importance. A win here will keep the initiative and momentum with them before they play the finale and that could play a crucial role in the grand contest.

As it currently stands on the points table, Guyana Amazon Warriors Women are placed at the first spot with two wins from two matches. They also have an excellent net run rate of 1.578, which shows how good they have been.

The Warriors Women started their campaign off with an excellent win over Trinbago Knight Riders Women as they won the match by 15 runs while defending a 81-run total. They were even better against the Barbados Royals Women in their subsequent match as they first restricted the Royals Women to 58 before chasing it down with five wickets in hand.

All in all, Guyana Amazon Warriors Women have pretty much everything going for them at the moment. They have an immaculately balanced side and a couple of back to back wins should imbibe plenty of confidence among the team. If they aren't complacent coming into this upcoming match, getting past them could prove to be incredibly difficult.

Barbados Women

Barbados Royal Women got off to the best-possible start to the tournament winning their opening match by massive margin. In their subsequent match, however, they not only lost the match but they also failed to put up even a fight. They followed that up with another loss, against Trinbago Knight Riders Women and are fortunate that they are still in contention. Having said that, they will need to register a win here to keep themselves hanging.

They are placed at the third spot on the ladder at the moment and not only will they need to win this match, they will also need to see the margin with which they'll have to if, if Trinbago Knight Riders Women manage to register a win in their contest respectively. At the moment, they have a pretty poor net run-rate of -0.617, which needs some improvement.

On paper, the Trinbago Knight Riders Women are apparently a bit too over-reliant on the batting pair of Hayley Matthews and Chloe Tyron. They have not been explosive enough to meet the demands of the format, except for the first match. The Royals will need to show a lot more intent and if they can do that here, Guyana Amazon Warriors Women will have their work cut out.
