Galle Gladiators were reduced to 10/4 in their previous match against the Kandy Falcons before an excellent recovery was staged by Thanuka Dabare and Nuwanidu Fernando. Both of them scored half-centuries and managed to get the team to a good total.
While these partnerships are good for morale, they do point to some weaknesses in the top order. Kusal Mendis has been disappointing in LPL 2022, as have Azam Khan and Iftikhar Ahmed. These are the three seasoned internationals that we would have expected to have made more of an impact.
There is no doubting their talent, though.
Imad Wasim continues to perform as an all-rounder whenever he is given a chance and is a great asset to the team. With Wahab Riaz, Nuwan Pradeep, and Lakshan Sandakan in the lineup, the Galle Gladiators have a very strong set of players to work with.
We expect more success from the Galle Gladiators lineup that has still not shown us what it is truly capable of.

Colombo Stars
The Colombo Stars have lost three out of their four matches in LPL 2022 and are just looking like a team that is past its best. The team moved around its batting order once more for the previous match and came close to beating the Jaffna Kings but they were always a bit behind the game.
Angelo Matthews played an aggressive knock in the middle order and Benny Howell showed just how capable he can be with the bat as well.
Niroshan Dickwella has been the one batter that is in good form for the Colombo Stars and his failure in the previous match should be looked into too much. The fact that the senior players (Dinesh Chandimal, Charitha Asalanka, Seekkuge Prasanna, etc) are not yet performing is holding the Colombo Stars back.
Benny Howell, Naveen-ul-Haq, and Dominic Drakes form an excellent rio of T20 bowlers but they need a bit more from their batters to be able to deliver wins for their team.
