The top-4 positions in the Finnish Premier League at the end of the group stage have been set. In fact, the top-3 positions within the four have also been decided. Teams outside of this top-4 have nothing but pride to play for and that is the position that the Greater Helsinki Cricket Club (GHC) finds itself in. Its opponent in this match is HGCC (GYM Helsinki Gymkhana), a side that has locked up fourth place.
HGCC will want to win this match and go into the knockouts with as much momentum at its back as possible.
GHC vs HGCC Finnish Premier League T20 is going to be played at the Kerava National Cricket Stadium, Kerava on the 14th of August 2020.
Four wins and eight losses have left GHC in the bottom half of the league table. It is in the sixth position right now and could move to fifth with a win in this match. Interestingly, GHC comes into this match with two wins on the trot, including one against Empire CC.
That was a DLS affected game, though, and so we would advise not reading too deeply into that match.
For GHC to win this last match, Muhammad Ziaur Rehman has to bat well. He is the best batsman in the side by a fair distance and is even considered to be one of the best in the entire league. Maybe Naveed Shahid or Ghulfam Nazir can give him some support but the match is as good as lost if Rehman does not fire.
This lack of depth is where GHC has struggled the entire season.
Naveed Shahid leads a weak bowling attack that is perhaps the worst in the entire Finnish Premier League. The average economy rate for the bowlers is around 9.00 and there are not too many wicket-takers in the lineup either.
Abdullah Attiqe, Hamzah Mukhtar, Gulfam Nazir, Adnan Ahmad, Pranjay Arya, Muhammad Ziaur Rehman, Naveed Shahid, Ali Waris, Parveen Kumar Garhwal, Kashif Muhammad, Sohail Amin.
Two losses against two potential rivals in the upcoming playoffs would have dented the confidence of HGCC. They are going to want to win this match at any cost to get their team in the right frame of mind.
HGCC is going to be playing the Eliminator and we think it can be a really dangerous opponent. Saif ur Rehman has been brilliant ever since he came into the eleven. He has 321 runs from just eight innings and is going to be very hard to stop.
Pankaj Saharan, Brar Simranjeet, and Ali Masood are some of the batsmen that can give him support but none of them have the pedigree that Rehman has shown.
Muhammad Ghawas and Faisal Shahzad lead a decent bowling attack for HGCC. The attack is pretty disciplined and tends to keep things tight in most matches. You can be certain that HGCC is not going to give away any freebies when it is bowling making things tough for the opposition batsmen.
Simaranjit Brar, Saif Ur Rehman, Ahmad Jaleel, Pankaj Sharan, Mohammed Azhar, Muhammad Gawas, Faisal Shahzad, Irfan Yousefzai, Javed Jan, Umair Akhtar, Malik Ali Shan.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first.

There is very little rain forecast for match day and so we should be able to get a full game in without any trouble. The pitch has been very good for batting in recent matches and we have seen 150 breached pretty consistently. It could also be a case of the batsmen getting used to the conditions having played multiple times at the same venue.
Similar batting friendly conditions in this match should help make for a high-scoring contest.
We think HGCC is going to strike back strong after its two losses. It has a strong batting lineup and its bowling is certainly better than what GHC brings to the table.
Bet on HGCC to win.
