Two teams at the opposite ends of the Central Group are going to be taking on each other in this match. Glamorgan has just one win to its name so far and is right at the bottom of the standings while Northamptonshire has won all but one of its matches. It is only separated from the top by net run-rate.
The previous time these two teams met each other, Northamptonshire won by 4 wickets in a match that seemed closer on the scorecard than it actually was.
Glamorgan vs Northamptonshire T20 Blast 2020 is going to be played at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff on the 13th of September 2020.
Glamorgan is the only team to have beaten Gloucestershire this season but surprisingly, it has not been able to win a single match after that. Four losses in its previous four matches cannot be great for the confidence of the team.
They must find a way to turn things around quickly otherwise this season could be a complete disaster for them.
Glamorgan is struggling because of some really poor batting in the T20 Blast so far. Chris Cooke and Andrew Balbirnie (to some extent) are the only batsmen that have been able to make any impact for Glamorgan.
Neither of them has a great strike-rate either and that must be distressing to Glamorgan.
We just cannot see it score enough runs to win consistently in this tournament.
Take Cooke and Balbirnie out and the rest of the batsmen have struggled to get a total of 50 runs in the entire tournament.
The bowlers do not have much to work with and are at a big disadvantage. Merchant de Lange and Andrew Salter are the two decent bowlers we can see in the Glamorgan set up. Overall, though, their bowling attack is not too threatening and could be in trouble against a strong Northamptonshire batting lineup.
David Lloyd, Nicholas Selman, Andy Balbirnie, Chris Cooke, Callum Taylor, Owen Morgan, Andrew Salter, Marchant de Lange, Timm van der Gugten, Ruaidhri Smith, Prem Sisodiya.
The batting lineup is not as skewed as Glamorgan’s nut Northamptonshire is facing a few similar problems as well. It also has two good top-order batsmen scoring most of the ruins and the rest struggling.
Paul Stirling and Richard Levi have more than 100 runs each to their names but the others are far behind. Adam Rossington, Josh Cobb, and Alex Wakeley have a lot of talent but they need to start pulling their weight.
If Stirling and Levi get out early, we could see Northamptonshire struggle and possibly even collapse.
White, Buck and Sanderson are leading the bowling attack for Northamptonshire. We don’t think this is a very strong bowling attack but it does not need to be to be effective against Glamorgan. If the Northamptonshire bowling is able to stick to the basics, it should be able to keep Glamorgan’s batsmen under control.

No rain in Cardiff has been forecast for this match! That in itself is a rarity and cause for celebration. The pitch at Sophia Gardens is not as good for batting at some of the other venues of the T20 Blast. The average scores are a bit lower and we think 165-175 is going to be a very good total batting first at this venue.
The conditions in Cardiff generally help the bowlers a bit but the sunny weather could tilt things back in favor of the batsmen.
Northamptonshire is the team to back in this contest although it is not as much of a one-sided battle as it may seem. Both teams are a bit dependent on two batsmen and so are vulnerable to a collapse.
That being said, we are sticking with the team in better form this time around.
Bet on Northamptonshire to win.
